Recs for steaks in Northside Richmond, VA???
Our son will be in the playoffs between University of Richmond and Eastern Kentucky this Saturday. My wife and I are traveling to the game from Tampa, but we're only a little familiar with Richmond's Northside. We would like to take our son to dinner Friday evening, preferrably to a great steakhouse or Italian restaurant (his favorites).
We would appreciate any recommendations for great steakhouses or Italian restaurants on Richmond's Northside. Price is not much of an object - we are looking for a great experience. After all, we don't get to see him for Thanksgiving due to the playoffs. That's really a great problem to have, but we would like to have a really memorable dinner with him Friday evening.

Private Room Restaurant - Tampa, FL ASAP
If you like really great seafood, try Oystercatchers at the Grand Hyatt on Courtney Campbell. It's a wonderful atmosphere directly on the water and the fresh seafood is great, if a little pricey.
They might be able to fix you up with a private room, although I'm sure they can setup a table for eight in a semi-private fashion.

Consider Charlie's on Lois near Westhore. They have a couple of private rooms and might have one in your size and price range. If nothing else, I'm sure that they can fix you up with something semi-private for eight.

St Pete Beach/St Petersburg
You said that you might not make it to Tampa in the evenings, but if you do and want a really great meal, try Charlie's on Lois Avenue (near Westshore). It's very close to the East end of the Howard Frankland Bridge (coming over from St. Pete).
Charlies is one of the best steakhouses in America, but also offers great seafood and other entrees at what I think is a reasonable price. Great wine selection and atmosphere. You will need reservations, but don't have to dress up much. Business casual is fine.
In my opinion, Charlies delivers a better steak than Bern's, offers a much nicer atmosphere and does it all at a more reasonable price. It's by far my favorite restaurant.

We will be staying Northwest of Richmond, Virginia this weekend and would like recommendations for good restaurants in the area. We like almost everything, particularly good steaks, Italian, seafood, etc.

Recommended seafood near Norfolk airport?
My wife and I live in Tampa and are seafood fanatics. While we get plenty of good seafood in Tampa, we are looking for some of the cold water Chesapeake Bay variety.
We are flying into Norfolk, Virginia shortly and taking I64 up through Hampton to Richmond. Can anyone recommend a seafood restaurant along that route that would be good for a mid-afternoon beer, crabcakes, oysters, etc.?
We would prefer something on the waterfront, near the airport, reasonably priced with great food. Again, it's just a mid-afternoon meal, so it doesn't need to be four star or anything.
