The Bite in Santa Fe

We had dinner there last night. My burger was amazing We also loved the cole slaw. Great waiter too. Only downside is the motel it is in is really filthy. The ladies room was gross.

Nanataco in Durham open

In my opinion, the big selection of delicious, high quality meats (smoked duck, garlic rubbed beef, 4 kinds of local farm raised pork, etc) put this place way above your typical taco stand in Durham like Chubby's or even The Cow No comparison.. Plus, I am not sure anyplace can touch Nana's Taco's milkshakes!! The Peach and the Mexican Chocolate were 2die4.

Nanataco in Durham open

A group of us tried Nana's Tacos in Durham recently we all loved it. The really big hit was the garlic rubbed beef. The frozen Mojitos and Mexican Chocolate milkshakes were also really good. They have a wonderful salsa and pickled veggie bar so you can personalize your tacos. We liked the casual atmosphere and prices. Want to try the fish taco next time and also the smoked duck tacos. One thing I didn't know---you specifically have to ask for cheese on the tacos and burritos. We all agreed Nana's was one big step above the other Mexican taco joints in Durham.

Chapel Hill to Mebane? Anything Worth Stopping For?

Our favorite restaurant in the entire state is in Hillsboro. It is called Panciuto and is only open for dinner. The food is spectacular. The chef was recently the runner up for James Beard's best chef of the South award.

Raleigh dinner mid-week with kids

Pie Bird in Raleigh is a wonderful place for children. It is new and has a big menu of both sweet and savory things. I think they would be delighted by it.

Where to have Sunday lunch in Raleigh NC?

I second the recommendation for Jibarra. I think they have the best Sunday brunch/lunch in the area. They also run an all you can drink bloody mary & mimosa special that is very reasonable. Don't miss their Cuban Sandwich and the most incredible fish tacos.

Off Property Dining - Boca Raton Beach Club

Hi There
I live in the neighborhood and we like the Boca Breakfast Club for breakfast. They do really good french toast. It is right on Mizner Blvd and I think the shuttle bus at the Resort can drop you off. If you have a car, there are several good Bagel places for breakfast in town---my favorite is Bagelworks on Glades road. For lunch---I would try Grand Lux Cafe in the Town Center Mall. Lots of great dinner places in the neighborhood---Trulucks in Mizner Park is wonderful and very close. If you like Japanese, Sushi Ray, Mexican--Roccos Tacos---both are in Boca Center Mall on Military Trail. For meat, you are very close to Ruth Chris and also Chops Lobster Bar. Both are pricey but good.

Hope this helps

Tosca in Durham Closed

I thought Tosca was overpriced and the owners were nasty. The really good news is that I live in West Village and have been to the new place..604 West 7 times in the last two weeks. The food is fantastic and the owner, Sean is a real gentleman. What we especially love is that they have two menus---one casual Italian and pizza and a second menu that is much more upscale. The Crabcakes, Tuscan Bean Soup and shortribs are dishes I have really loved. So thrilled to hava a really great restaurant in that spot.

Looking for Kosher for Passover products in Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill

I live in Durham and was told that if you are celebrating Passover in the area, it is very worth a short trip to a supermarket in Greensboro to a local supermarket in the town. They have a big, will supported, Jewish population and you can get everything you need in one run. Also, Fresh Market in Chapel Hill on Raleigh Road has heavenly Brisket for sale in their meat department. I have made their first cut Brisket in the past and it is as good quality as you will find at any NY butcher. I was in Whole Foods in Durham and they had a very respectable Passover section and every kind of traditional pre-maid food for passover if you don't want to cook. I might cheat and buy some Potato Pancakes and Kugel from them, pre-made.
