My parents are in town next week. I need a good place to take them for dinner. I'm looking for something that's fun, touristy and shows off Vegas... but doesn't skew too young. They're conservative... but on the metropolitan side and appreciate good food and cool restaurants.
Places I have already taken them...
Gordon Ramsey's Steak at the Paris
They loved all three places. Steak was worth the price... but I'm looking for places a little less expensive this time around.
I have yet to show them Fremont. So I may take them there. I'm thinking Oscar's or something in the Golden Nugget. I also got us tickets to see Le Reve at the Wynn. I'm thinking Lakeside might be a good choice beforehand... or Andrea's.
Mix is a great place for a view and to bring a date. I think of it as a place for drinks more than a place for food. I go there all the time and didn't realize they even had food until my friend ordered some last night. lol.
The crowd is usually on the younger side... but can skew older if there is a big event or convention at Mandalay Bay. Sometimes you get a danceclub atmosphere. Sometimes you get a quiet lounge. And you don't really know what it will be until you get there.
My advice... go to a resturant downstairs at Mandalay Bay (or the Luxor next door) and then go up to Mix for a drink and the view afterwards.
(This is my view from last night. I took it quick and it's blurry but I was answering a text that said "Where are you now?" lol. At least it gives you an idea of the view)
