Blue Star Range

Wolf is not without its share of issues. We had the 30" all gas range a couple of years ago and it had serious issues with gas flow - couldn't use burners and oven at same time. We weren't alone in this. Our range ( and others) were bought back by Wolf. I believe since then there has been a recall on the all gas range (not sure). No input for/against Blue Star - just mentioning Wolf (or any other manufacturer) is not without issues.

30" American Range

I did go see the range at the distributor's location. So I asked lots of questions there. I also contacted American directly and got even more info. I contacted another owner and chatted w/him on the phone for quite some time. I continue to be pleased with this range and am so happy to report it is trouble free!

We got the leg caps and the island riser. We are looking at getting the panels painted in a bit. But I may get the removable griddle one of these days.

There are a few owners posting on garden web in the appliance forum - do a search for american there, that may help too.

Good luck.

Anyone own a 36" American range with Grill?

We have the 30" American residential range and are very pleased with it. I posted on the other thread.

I will say here though that the American replaces a defective Wolf. We had the Wolf for less than a year and it was repurchased by the company.

American has been around on the commercial side for a while as well.

I have not had service issues, but have found American and the local distributor more than willing to answer my numerous questions. We installed the range just before Christmas.

Seeing the range hooked up is an excellent idea - we were able to go to the distributor to see the range live.

The American was quite a bit less than the Wolf it replaced. It also comes with a riser whereas it is a separate cost with the Wolf. Not sure if the price difference would be as much with the larger ranges though.

30" American Range

We love the new range! It was installed the week before Christmas and was used non stop for most of the weekend prior. It was a champ!

The American was less than the Wolf and there are many things that it has that the Wolf didn't that I like. The ss top is a breeze to clean - I hated the porcelain black on the Wolf. The knobs don't have stop points like the Wolf did...you can easily adjust the flame. There are indicator lights on each of the burners and the oven so you can see what is on. The oven is huge! The burners have performed great!

I'm sure there is more - I would easily buy this range again! Be glad to answer any questions you might have.

30" American Range

Answering my own post...we went ahead and researched this range and decided to order. I will post more once it is installed and we are using it.

Range Advice? Looking at 48" Five Star...

We recently ordered the 30" American range. I can't speak to specific use yet but here are some reasons we chose the range. Seamless ss top - easy to wipe down. Large oven capacity. All gas, with convection. Color panels available. Price - compared to other pro models. Simplicity - we did not want any electronic controls. Powerful burners. I also liked that each burner has an "on" indicator light. There are many other things. We considered several ranges and can't wait to get this in the kitchen and cooking!

Desperately seeking quiet new range

Look in to American Range too. They offer 30" is SS and color. We just ordered ours and hope it is here this week. The fan does not run on it's own - it is controlled via switch.
