A week in Colorado Springs

The area is residential, but very close to the national forest. The creek runs right behind the restaurant and up into the forest so we see lots of deer and an occasional bear in the area. We even saw a mama and her two babies crossing Highway 115 (Nevada Avenue) to get from a greenway to the golf course. Again in an area that has green space all the way up to the mountains.

Recommendations for Colorado Springs

The Craftwood does great game and other interesting food, but is pretty expensive. McKenzie's is good steak. Nosh does interesting small plates.

Brewpubs in Colorado Springs

Phantom Canyon is the oldest brewpub in town. Bristol doesn't have food - it's just beer. Trinity Brewing has some interesting beers.

Mexican food in Colorado Springs

We like Jose Muldoon's. Amanda's Fonda and Crystal Park Cantina get really good reviews.

Colorado Springs -- DC Hound needs dinner options near Cheyenne Mountain Resort

I'm too late for you, but I would recommend the Blue Star, Walter's Bistro, or McKenzie's. This is Colorado Springs, jeans are everywhere. The Penrose Room is probably the only place in town that requires a coat. The Peppertree is good, too, and has great views. I was not at all happy with The Famous.

Colorado Springs small wedding reception venue?

The Briarhurst does lots of weddings. The Margarita does really good food and has some rooms that would be a good size for you.

A week in Colorado Springs

Nosh for small plates (same owner as Blue Star), Tapateria for tapas, Pizzeria Rustica for gourmet pizza, Warehouse or Craftwood for game and other interesting meals, Rabbit Hole for interesting small plates, Phantom Canyon Brew Pub, Marigold's or Margarita for a nice dinner or lunch.

Short Trip To Colorado...Any tips??

For Colorado Springs, I would concur on Nosh. Their food is always well prepared and interesting. BJ's Velvet Freez is just an old style ice cream stand, not sure why it would be worth a special trip. The Warehouse and Craftwood do good game and other interesting food, but are on the more expensive side. Warehouse does have small plates. King's Chef is supposed to have really good green chili and diner food. We like Tapateria (tapas) and Pizzeria Rustica, but they are not uniquely Colorado. The Rabbit Hole has some interesting small plates, too.
