Anyone know of good restaurants open on Christmas Eve for dinner. Mag Mile or near north areas preferred

Best Store to buy fish in bklyn??

Cosentino's on 3rd Ave bet. 69th & 70th. Consistently fresh, though somewhat limited choices. In business since the 50's.
Supplies many of Bay Ridge's best restaurants.

Looking for excellent bakery for bread - Lincoln Park/Lakeview area

Red Hen on Diversey

Eatzies on Clark

Weekend in SF

We'll be visiting SF from Chicago next weekend.

Only reservation is Rose Pistola on Sat. Is it still good? Also contemplating Scala's Bistro.
Any thoughts?

Also, please suggest best szechwan/hunan in Chinatown for lunch or dinner.

Thanks

East-coast Style Pizza

Cafe Luigi on Clark south of Wrightwood. Closest slices to NYC in Chicago

Where to find Nathan's Natural Casing Dogs...

Be careful. The only Nathans dogs I've seen in Chicago are NOT natural casing and don't compare to natural casing. Try the Boars Head natural casing franks available at Treasure Island on Broadway & Cornelia about an 8 block walk from your hotel.
IMHO better than Vienna beef & Nathans natural casings

NY Style Pizza in Chi?

Try Cafe Luigi on Clark between Deming & Wrightwood

Where can i get a good prosciutto and mozzarella sandwich?

I second the Bari Foods rec. No one else comes close.

Best Bay Ridge Italian for dinner?

Gino's on 5th Ave between 74th & 75th

A fun, good late-night dinner place in Lincoln Park

Dunlay's on Clark & Wrightwood is a good casual spot with a decent wine list.

Top 3 Hot Dogs

1- Hot Dougs
2- Hot Dougs
3- Hot Dougs

Bobby Flay's Italian Beef

It was the worst version of the classic chicago sandwich I've ever seen. Sterling Sharpe looked like he was going to choke on it.

Good fish market in bay ridge?

I second Cosentino's. I believe they still service many of Bay Ridge's fine restuarants

Great true brasserie?

Mon Ami Babi on Lincoln Park West. More along the lines of Balthazar but a little more subdued. The other mentioned are more tiny and cramped, but good.

Best Thin Crust in Chi

Cafe Luigi on 2500 N. Clark. Closest thing to NYC thin crust in the city.

Best Italian?

Try Merlo on Lincoln North of Wrightwood.

Chicago Barbecue

Hecky's take out baby backs were a MAJOR disappointment. Overcooked and dry.

Nice Dinner near Palmer House Hilton

Try the Atwood Cafe in the Hotel Burnham on State & Washington

Saloon Steakhouse?

The Saloon hands down.. Better food, better service, better drinks, better atmosphere.

Steak House for 80th Birthday Party

The Saloon at 200 E Chestnut.

IMO much better than the "chains"

Anniversary Dinner - good choices

Try Ambria in the Belden Stratford Hotel on Lincoln Park west.

Los Angeles (OC) Hounds visit Chicago (long)

I have been visiting The Saloon since my 14 year old sons' baptismal dinner. Always great. IMO much better than Gibson's, Mortons, Chop House et al.

Coming to Chicago this weekend from LA

Try Frontera Grill on Clark & Illinois for lunch. Great Mexican. Get there early for fabulous Chile Rellenos.

great hamburger in brooklyn

Skinflints & Pippins Pub both in Bay Ridge. Great Burgers

French fries

Hot Dougs on Roscoe & California

Duck Fat fries to die for. Available on Fri & Sat only
