Where would you go for the food?

Spain, Italy, France or better yet all three!! Lots to see, always fresh food, great wine, cheese- well of course! Barcelona, Amalfi coast, Bordeaux. If I had to choose just one - Italy. Enjoy!!
Ps I never thought I wanted to see much of France either ( I live in Quebec) but Bordeaux is Fantastic and one of the few places I would return to.

Homemade Mayonnaise

It's the oil, we made the same mistake and use Olive oil...awful. We then used a standard veggie oil (canola) and it was very good. FYI it only stays good for about 5 days.

Montreal dinner for a group of 7

You may be right and they may not reserve, just mentioned it because it can get rather busy. *Also, they are a brasserie so I think you have to be 18 years old, I know you mentioned teen age boys.
I went there in March and they were doing dinners then but hey things can change. At any rate, Montreal has a ton of great restaurants and urbanspoon is a good place to start :)

One restaurant that comes to mind is Reservoir in the plateau. It is a neat spot! Really good, different food and they make there own beer on the premise. I am sure you would love it!! http://bigmamasnest.blogspot.ca/2013/... Make a reservation!! The place can get packed.

How to prepare cod for fishcakes?

Opps sorry about that. You can bake the fillets in the oven 350 or pan fry them over low/med heat. A little salt and pepper and a small amount of oil should be all you need.Try not to over cook them, they should flake easily with a fork - there is most likely 'a formula' on line, that will tell you how long to cook a fillet depending on the weight. (Since I can't see how much you have) When they are cool assemble into fish cakes, just break the fish into pieces with a fork and add the other ingredients.
Hope that helps :)

How to prepare cod for fishcakes?

Hi, I have and do make fish cakes with fresh cod (cooked first) it's kinda of a I have left over fish now what? kinda dish. Left over cooked potatoes are the other half of the equation.
One beaten egg, finely diced onions, salt and pepper. Combine cooked fish, cooked mashed potatoes, as much egg as need to bind, salt, pepper and onions. Form into patties and dust them in flour then fry in butter until golden brown and crisp. An old basic recipe, just like moms :)

Infused Wine

Hi! I have not infused wine but have infused spirits. Wine really is a acquired taste and starting off sweet and white is usually safe. Moving then to rosee

What are you drinking tonight?

Gin and tonic, Yep that's the answer! Two very important points: First, it must be Bombay Gin. Second, fresh lime and lots of it! I was very excited to find diet tonic because the calories from tonic are crazy! Cheers and Enjoy!!

Best white wine for a white peach sangria?

I love white wine sangria! Actually all sangria, but on a hot summers day there is nothing as refreshing a white wine sangria. I have tried Chablis, Riesling or Pinot Gris in my sangria and was equally happy with each choice. Personally I don't choose the most expensive wine because I add Ginger ale and peach schnapps to it and to me that would be a waste. It's really up to you! Try a few and see what you like best :)
