What happened to Renaissance patisserie in Larchmont?
so you were the one who cleaned up the shelves before we got there! jsut kidding.
i love their brownies and their rugelach. they are both incredible. i read on another post that they hired the pastry chef from bouley. you can tell by the quality. i have also heard of these mysterious devil dogs but will not believe they exist until i see them with my very own eyes!!!
What happened to Renaissance patisserie in Larchmont?
did they change the new la renaissance in scarsdale village? is it under the same ownership? we had their signature cake with the almond meringue crust the other weekend and it was awful. it used to be my favorite. normally its good when its sitting a few days in the fridge but i think this thing was just plain old.
lulus is where the old jespersens used to be -- a word of advice about lulus. the berry scones there are really out of this world and i love their german chocolate cake, and i think they make the best brownies around -- but dont even THINK of walking in there without ordering something. last time we went there on a saturday morning and there was nothing on the shelves. it looked like the place was closed. we were very upset.
if you head to the kneaded bread in portchester you have to try the provolone bread its the best!
Sripraphai (Woodside) or Lotus of Siam (Las Vegas)?
in my opinion, just like pho huang in vegas kicks the butt of any vietnamese restaurant in ny, i would take lotus over sriprahai in a heartbeat. i do love that coconut sorbet dessert in the coconut shell at sripahai, but the food is much better in vegas. go figure!
Very early Bkfst close to Radio City
i love ess-a-bagel, rude staff (think its part of their schtick) but the bagels are to die for!
Where to find really good scones in Westchester
Looking for some scones for out-of-town guests coming in for the holidays -- not terribly impressed with the ones we have tried out here, so far our favorites come from whole foods (gasp) any places with a really good chocolate or oatmeal scone? We want to make a basket of 50 or so...

is piccolo angelo worth the wait?
like idiots, we were ONLY 5 minutes late for a reservation we had book MONTHS ago. we had trouble finding parking. alas, when we arrived litterally 5 minutes late, the owner (who was not hte friendliest) had given up our table. we were so upset, then asked to reschedule for another time and he said "no" and that we would have to call tomorrow.
i certainly hope that the party of four that got our table as walk-ins enjoyed everything, since we ended up at a lousy restaurant down the street.
is it really worth making reservations at this place again?
thanks
