White Queso in Plano area

Mi Cocina Plano had queso blanco at one point. I don't see it on the menu online currently, but remember ordering both the chile con queso and queso blanco one time. You may try calling and see if they still serve it.

Need suggestion for Fiance's 50th birthday celebration with the girls???

How about a private party at Painting with a Twist and dinner afterwards? There are several locations in the DFW area to choose from...check out their pictures on their home page.

The Joule Hotel (next door to Iron Cactus) has a swanky rooftop bar/lounge and you can have food catered from Charlie Palmer downstairs. The view is stunning at night.

Restaurant Week menus (2011)

Had reservations at Nick & Sam's last year for RW, got there on time, waited for 2 hours and finally decided to leave...who knows when we would've finally gotten a table. It was nearly impossible to get a drink from the bar or cocktail server while we waited.

I'm not sure what part of Irving you are in, but I work right off 114 in Irving and we will drive to Grapevine for flautas at Baja Mex Grill. They have great brisket and chicken flautas!

chinese restaurants with a banquet hall in the dfw area

I've been to many wedding receptions at Maxim's in Richardson and enjoyed the food. (I have never eaten there outside of a banquet.)

Caravelle is just down the street and the food is excellent. I go there quite often, but have not attended any banquets there.

I've also heard Thanh Thanh Vietnamese in Arlington is a great spot for banquets, but have not been there.

Zander's House in Plano is beautiful and the Vietnamese food there is outstanding.

My number one favorite is Hill Top Cafe, which is about 10 miles west of Fredericksburg. (Although I don't think they are open on Mondays.)

frozen yogurt- DFW

I had Bliss for the first time last night in Frisco (SE corner of 121/Preston) and I prefer Berry Berry. Bliss was tangier, but the texture was grainy instead of smooth like at Berry Berry. I also had Pinkberry over the weekend while in NYC and really enjoyed it - the fruit was much bigger and ripe than what we get here locally.

Banh mi in Carrollton/N.Dallas area and a little help ordering it?

Lee Sandwiches is supposed to be opening up sometime this year in Garland. Their menu with pictures would give you a good idea of the types of sandwiches out there.

Blu Ginger Thai Cafe and La Joya Fine Mexican - DFW

I definitely recommend La Joya. I tried it for the first time last week during lunch and was quite impressed. Very fresh ingredients and it was nice to have something different from your typical Tex Mex. I love their refried beans and fresh squeezed lime/lemonade.

You can check out their menu at http://www.lajoyarestaurant.com/.

best hot sauce restaurant and store

I tried Hooks U Salsa after reading about it on the eats blog. It is my new fav salsa - very fresh tasting. http://eats.beloblog.com/archives/200...

As far as restaurants, I love the smokiness of Pappasito's and Uncle Julio's.

For authentic Vietnamese, I love Saigon Kitchen in Garland.

First Chinese BBQ is also quite good, it is Chinese/Vietnamese cuisine. http://firstchinesebbq.com/

You may find this site of interest to you as well; http://chaskemp.googlepages.com/east_...

I know you have dinner plans already, but I do love Zander's House in Plano. (Dinner is better than lunch.) It is upscale Vietnamese (from Hue region) and it is unlike anything we have here in Dallas. The staff is Vietnamese (all family members) and you will find a lot of Vietnamese diners as well. They can recommend items that are not on the menu and they are always spot on. I have never been disappointed.

You can't go wrong with La Duni -- I went there this past Sunday and had the brunch chile relleno. Wow. They also have a new Peruvian restaurant, Alo, that has had glowing reviews.

Rise Number One--Open yet? Been there?

We stopped in for dessert and coffee yesterday afternoon. We had the chocolate souffle which was excellent. They have a very small menu with savory souffles & sweet souffles. They also have cheese, soups, salads, sandwiches and a few other other non-souffle desserts. Very charming place, I am eager to go back and have a meal there.
