Looking for excellent romantic dinner in Cancun hotel zone, please help.

My wife and I will be in Cancun for her birthday end of the month. I am looking for somewhere with good food that is romantic and in Cancun hotel zone. We live in Charleston, SC so we know about good food in a romantic setting. Only in New York and New Orleans have I found food that compared. What are your recommendations for her birthday dinner?

Looking for the best street vendor falafel near the London NYC

I absolutley love falafels and have not had one in years. This is my first trip to NYC and would love to find a good street vendor falafel right after we check in to the London NYC. Are there street vendors near by that sell falafels? Or is there somewhere else I should look for a good falafel?

Where can I find an awesome veal picata?

I lloked at the menu at Roberto Passon and it looks good. How does it compare to Amarone Ristorante or Trattoria Trecolori? I also like thei menus very much. Is one more romantic than the others? Which of the two would you recommend (not just for the VPiccata)?

Where can I find an awesome veal picata?

I really want an authenic veal picata. Did I spell that right? We are staying at the London NYC and would like to be within walking distance but would travel if it was worth it. We've never been to New York before. I looked at the menus of some of the fancier italian restaurants but none had this dish. Thanks.

Help - need last minute advice. Going to FQ tomorrow!

We will be in the FQ tomorrow (Sunday) for just one day and need lunch advice. We will eating at Stella for dinner but wanted a Po-Boy for lunch, probably oyster or roast beef. We will be staying at the Inn on Bourbon (corner of Bourbon & Toulouse St) so somewhere close would be good. We were thinking Napoleon House or Acme. Which one or do you suggest another? We like a lively atmosphere with good drinks and food. Thanks for your quick response.

Somewhere within' a 20 minute walk of our hotel and open on Sundays would be preferable. We will be having dinner at Stella that night and then walking the bars on bourbon st after. Is Bourbon St any tamer on Sunday nights? I hope not!

PoBoy (other than Johnnys) in the FQ?

We are looking for a good PoBoy (probably roast beef but possibly oyster) in the FQ. I hear how good Johnny's is but we are looking for a cool place to hangout, have a few drinks, and a eat a good PoBoy. Where do you recommend close to Ramada's Inn on Bourbon (Bourbon & Touliouse St)? We are having dinner at Stella. Is that easily walkable from our hotel? Also, how about a cool bar with good blues or jazz (no cover) between Stella and Inn on Bourbon? Thanks for your help.

Only one lunch in the FQ?

Hi,
We will be in the FQ for only one day in Jan 2009. We are going to eat at Stella that night, but where should we go for lunch? This will be a thursday. We are staying at the Bourbon Inn (Ramada) so somewhere close would be best. Where would you go and what would you order?

Only one night to eat in the FQ, where?

Hi, My father, brother, and I will be staying in the FQ for one night in January. Where should we eat? We are looking for the best most innovative dishes. We have never been to NO before but looked at a couple of menus and liked the looks of Stella. How is this place of lately? Is it within walking distance to Bourbon Street bars, etc? Where else should we look for dinner?

Also we will have one lunch in the FQ. I believe that we are staying at Iberville Suites a block from Bourbon near Canal, I think. We would like to try either Johnny's PoBoys or Bon Ton. Are either of these within walking distance of our hotel? Bon Ton was highly recommend by some clients of mine. Which would you recommend? Or something else close by? Thanks for your help.

Only one night to eat out - please help!

Bill-
Thanks for the info. If we do make dinner on this trip it has to be on Sun or Mon night when Brigtsens is closed. I had my heart set on it but it looks like we are going to have to save Brigtsens for nest years trip. Our benefactor definately likes female servers so maybe RA isnt our best choice for dinner. If we can only do lunch then we may try RA. You seem to be very knowlegable on here so what do you think about Cuvee vs Herbsaint for our group? This would be for dinner. Thanks in advance. I know it is a long drive but if you have never tried it the food at Woodlands Plantation is excellent.

Best fine dining lunch?

It is going to on a Friday, Dec 3. I have looked at some of the menus and have narrowed it down to Rest August or Cuvee or Herbsaint in that order. Will we need a reservation for 3 at these places for lunch? I really wanted to try Brigtsens but we proabaly will not go to dinner this trip and if we do it'll be on Monday night when Brigtsens is closed. If we end up doing dinner on this trip, it'll be Cuvee or Herbsaint. The problem with dinner is that all of the restauarants are at least an hour away from where we are staying. We can hit one of the lunch places on the way from the airport to Woodlands. Of the above three which would recommend for lunch?

Best fine dining lunch?

We may not get to go to any fine dining for dinner during our stay because the closest fine dining is about 1hr away from where we are staying. We are staying at the Woodland Plantation in West Pointe a la Hache which has wonderful food but wanted to try some of the NO fine dining. Which of the the fine dining rest would you suggest for lunch? We probably will be ordering fish. I was thinking that after flying in we could eat lunch somewhere nice before heading south. Are there any fine dining rests somewhere close to Woodlands? Any in Belle Chase? If not what is the best fine dining lunch in NO?

Only one night to eat out - please help!

We only have one night to eat out in New Orleans and was looking for some guidance. First off, let me tell you about our party. We are varied but all love great food! We are 3 fishermen and a chef. We are used to fine dinning in Charleston, SC so we know what goodd food is. The guy who buys us dinner loves fine food and wine but can not have garlic and does not like overly loud places. I know some places will not leave garlic out of their menu items and others are more likely to please their customers. The place can be loud just not extremely loud. Our "Sugardaddy" also likes lots of personal attention from the server. He is a big old flirt if you know what I mean. We love redfish and trout but eat it all the time so there is no interest there for us. We plan on going to dinner on Mon 12/3 so it should not be that busy, I think.

We had planned on Rest August because it was rated #1 on Trip Advisor three weeks ago. Now it is #66 and the recent reviews are not good so we want some other options. One of our group lives outside of New Orleans says that he loves August, Herbsaint, and Clancy's but does not want to make the decision as to where we go because he may have to drop out at the last minute. I like the menu at Brigten's but have never heard anything about the food. We want somewhere that is classy but not too classy (no Commanders, etc) with great food and a great wine list. I know this a lot to ask but I'm sure some of you can help. Thanks.
