Wow, I just looked at the menu again. It looks nice, lots of interesting choices! I look forward to trying it!
The River Tavern, Chester, CT
We went a few times a year or so ago. We thought it was very good in every way. I remember that they had I think it was a date pudding for dessert which i loved. One thing I did hear was the chef from River Tavern left almost a year ago to go to Oyster Club in Mystic, CT. Maybe that explainswhy things are different.
Mystic/New London graduation dinner recommendations?
The food at the Oyster Club is very good and it is a lovely restaurant.

Have not gotten there yet but it is on my list. A new restaurant also opened recently where Tricia's used to be, Fish. I look forward to trying that also!
PVD/RI * March '12 * Open/Closed/Coming Soon
Supposedly right near the CVS but on Thayer. Are there any empty restaurants around that area?
PVD/RI * March '12 * Open/Closed/Coming Soon
We just heard there is an American Flatbread opening this summer on Thayer.
New London and / or Mystic .....Where do locals eat????
The only thing I disagree on is 84 High Street. We did not like that at all, and we have been there a few times. Is Riverwalk worth trying? I am not sure if Bruna's Table is still open. We tried Dev's years ago and though is was just okay but maybe will try again. We are at Water Street and Noah's often, both great, WAter Street better. Look forward to trying Milagro! Can't wait until Olympia Tea Room is open!

I agree with both! Especially love the pub at Daniel Packer!

From what I heard, The Seahorse is now owned by the people who own Zacks.
Newport, RI Restaurant Itinerary Recommendations
We felt that TSK was just okay, small portions, food okay... Great homemade donuts for dessert. We love tallulah's. Is everyone talking about Restaurant Lucia's or Mama Louisa's? Did they change their name? We always liked Restaurant Lucia better.
Newport, RI Restaurant Itinerary Recommendations
Peurini's is wonderful for Italian food. Nice atmosphere, not overly expensive. We love it there. Clarke Cooke House is not stuffy. VERY nice atmosphere. Alot of times we even go there for a drink after dinner. I have not been in awhile but downstairs is The Candy Store, a nightclub with great dance music. We go there for lunch sometimes also. Restaurant Bouchard is great food but very stuffy. For a dining experience you could go to Tahlulas. Perro Salado is cozy and we liked the food.
Waterman Grill, Providence?
Is it good? It is a pretty place, the menu looks interesting but I never hear or read much about it.
Looking for the best destination restaurants in RI, Mass, and CT
Water Street Cafe is just as good if not better than Noah's, no?
Heading to Mystic CT(staying in Groton) with 2 kids
Oh Sorry the cupcakes weren't good! They always look good and I love their sandwiches. We were not a fan of Latitude 41 but glad you liked Dog Watch!

Have you had the tuna tempura? We go there often and especially love that!
Dogs in Restaurants
That is just a disrespectful dog owner. We love going to restaurants with our well behaved dog. In the summer many restaurants allow you to sit outside with your dog. We sit her between us and we always make sure she is quiet and nonintrusive to others. We love her and her company. Often people do not even realize that she is there.

In Stonington, very close to Mystic, there is The Dog Watch Cafe. The atmosphere is casual, upbeat, food is very good, on a marina. That would be good for you and perfect for kids.

Thank you, I was sort of unsure of the name!!

We have eaten at both. I liked the Oyster Club MUCH better that S&P Oyster as far as the food goes. It is a beautiful restaurant, small, more upscale than S&P Oyster. Maybe S&P would be more family friendly. S&P Oyster House does have a great bread pudding.

We also like Daniel Packer Inn. Azu and Bravo Bravo are both good. Peking Tokyo is very good. If you are near Mystic Aquarium in the Mystic village (where all of the stores are) there is a little sandwich shop, Brie Blue (I believe that is the name. They specialize in grilled cheese. I love it there for lunch. You can also buy nice cheesesand breads there and beautiful cupcakes. Just a thought for lunch!
Ceviche in RI
We recently went to Grand Cayman and had this wonderful ceviche. I have never had it in RI but I hoped to find it somewhere.I will try Los Andes, always fun to try a new restaurant. I will definately make my own ceviche. The ceviche I had was made with wahoo and one with shrimp. We are so lucky in RI to have such great seafood. I thought maybe Matunick Oyster Bar or Providence Oyster Bar might have it.
Ceviche in RI
I looked at the menu and it seems to be mainly meat. If I only eat seafood are there many other options?
Grand Cayman In February
We are at The Ritz this week. So far we have loved the food in Grand Cayman. Lunch at the Sunshine Grill, great. Dinner at the Ritz Japanese restaurant, loved it. Dinner at Aqua, wonderful ceviche. Dinner at Dolce Vita, very good. Dinner and lunch at Periwinkles just okay. We still have a few more nights to look forward tok.
Grand Cayman Superbowl Sunday
I really don't want a sports bar atmosphere. Aside from superbowl we are celebrating a special occasion so I am trying to find a nice place to be able to "keep tabs" on superbowl.
Grand Cayman Superbowl Sunday
I will be on Grand Cayman on Superbowl Sunday. Although I am not that interested in football, the Patriots are in the Superbowl and we are from NE. I'd love to find a place where we could watch the game but not neccesarily have it be a sportsbar atmosphere. We will probably have dinner elsewhere but if there was a place nice enough that had a tv that would work. thanks!
