Good sandwich stop around Stockbridge area?

Hi Lenox637! We made the detour to stop at SixDepot in West Stockbridge and I must tell you that it was the best sandwich stop on our whole trip (18 days!). I can't recommend it enough - the toasted sandwich was delicious (Caprese with tomato and mozzarella, and a kind of basil dressing). The beer was fantastic but one of the most amazing things we found was the espresso coffee..... it was superb! And we live in Italy so we drink espressos every day....!

Hi DaveyB! We ended up not going for the hotel buffet breakfast ($9.95) and went to Rise 'n Shine as it was conveniently on our way out of Syracuse towards the Finger Lakes and on to Niagara. It was great although the pancakes were very thick and not as light as usual - pity they don't provide real maple syrup, only corn syrup. Loved the typical diner atmosphere, and the fact that it wasn't touristy at all. Thanks for the tip :)

Hi neighbourguy! We went to Pho Xyclo and really enjoyed our first ever Vietnamese meal! Thanks for the tip :)

Hi abigllama! Your tip to park in the casino parking garage was a great one! Thanks a lot - we did exactly as you said, it worked just like you said, and we saved a load of money :)

We've never had the chance to try Vietnamese food - living in Italy I can't say I've ever seen a Vietnamese restaurant, in fact anything other than Italian is quite difficult to find here. I'll definitely look into it. Thanks a lot.

Wow, thanks for all that info. Sorry I was practically working for 48 hours so couldn't reply before. It looks as if we'll go to Regal for breakfast! How does parking at the casino work, if we turn up with suitcases...? Would we just drive in, unpack the car and nonchalantly walk down the sky walk to the hotel? That's a great tip to save on the hotel's horrible parking charges.

Eating near Four Points by Sheraton Niagara Falls Ontario

Hi there! Need some ideas for decent breakfasts, lunch (sandwich) and dinner near this hotel. Actually, lunch could be in the area of the waterfalls as we'll be sightseeing rather than in the hotel! The area seems a bit barren as far as decent but fairly priced eateries are concerned. I seem to come up with either chains or expensive restaurants. We don't really want to get the car out of the hotel garage just to go to breakfast but doing that for dinner would be ok I suppose. Does anyone know about the breakfast options in the hotel? I've read a few reviews where they write it's horribly expensive. Thanks a lot for any help :)

Thanks! I already asked about lunch before getting to Syracuse - I don't think I asked about it between Syracuse and Niagara. Thinking of just a sandwich stop somewhere along our route near the Finger Lakes, probably the furthest destination from Syracuse as I don't think it takes more than a few hours to get to Canandaigua. But would love to find somewhere smaller along the way, rather than going onwards to the bigger cities along the I-90.

I will indeed let you know about the buffet, if we go for that. We're actually doing a round trip but we're travelling to Syracuse from Hyannis, where we'll have spent the previous night. Then from Syracuse we're travelling to Niagara Falls, thinking of taking a less direct route than the highway, and driving across the northern tips of the Finger Lakes before re-joining the highway after Canandaigua. Actually, we'll probably need some advice on where to stop for lunch that day (just a sandwich). We're Italians (although I'm English, living in northern Italy). What's Shopping Paradise??!

Thanks, that's really helpful to know. We may end up doing that then.

Thanks for the idea of funknwaffles but they are both quite far away from the hotel - one is a 15-minute drive, the other is even further.

I'd like to find somewhere decent for breakfast when staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Syracuse next month as the hotel gives no menu information or price list for their breakfasts. When they write "fees apply" it tends to mean "rip off"! Problem: I just can't find anywhere in the nearby area. As we're just passing through, we'd rather eat and be off as opposed to taking the car into town, but if that's the only option, please recommend somewhere good! Thanks a lot :D

Good sandwich stop around Stockbridge area?

Hi! As we're planning to dine at the Dinosaur BBQ when we get to Syracuse, I think the less we eat at lunch, the better, and we don't really want to stray off the highway too much as our journey (from Hyannis to Syracuse) is calculated to be around 6 hours on Google maps. So yes, a sandwich would be best. Thanks!

Good sandwich stop around Stockbridge area?

Along the I-90, journey from Hyannis to Syracuse, thought of stopping for a sandwich lunch around the Stockbridge area, not to far off the highway as the journey is a long one. Any good ideas? From what I can see, there don't seem to be many good options :( Thanks for your suggestions!

Turquoise Trail recommendations anyone?

Bear in mind that Mary and Tito's closes early from Mon - Thursday at 6pm. I had my eye on them too, but can't do dinner that early on the days I'll be in ABQ. What a shame!

Albuquerque: why do so many New Mexican restaurants close so early??

Perea's looks like it closes at 8pm, Mary and Tito's at 6pm, Sophia's Place at 3pm!!! Can anyone suggest a GOOD New Mexican "chow" place that's open in the evening?

Holbrook AZ: can anyone recommend somewhere decent to eat there?

It could work although it's in the opposite direction to where we'll be arriving from (Albuquerque) - I've had a look at the website and it certainly looks better than anything Holbrook has to offer. Thanks a lot!

Holbrook AZ: can anyone recommend somewhere decent to eat there?

After much research I see that the most recommended place is Mesa Italiana Restaurant, but as we're from Italy we'd rather avoid pseudo-Italian cooking. It doesn't really sound that great, and the other options in Holbrook look dire! Please help!

Great eats in Essex Inn area (800 Sth Michigan Drive)?

We're from Italy, but are curious to try Lou Malnati;s which looks quite near the hotel. Is the area ok after dark?
Which other places are musts - nothing expensive though. We want to try Lou Mitchell's on West Jackson Blvd on the day we set off along the Route 66. When is the best time to get there to find a table and avoid queues, or is that inevitable? How long do you normally have to wait? Thanks a lot.
