My Grami's stuffed peppers, tempura udon, and a big greasy cheeseburger. Not all together, of course.

Lavanda in Palo Alto, CA-I had a wonderful birthday dinner this year. Lilly's Pizza in Raleigh-it doesn't get any better than the Buddah. Cascal in Mountain View, CA-open all day, lovely patio, and the gazspachos rock. Manresa Restaurant in Los Gatos, CA. Zely+Ritz in Raleigh.
My most tattered cookbooks:
Something Moosewood and "A Kitchen Companion" by Polly Clingerman-more a kitchen guide per se than a cookbook, but it has awesome basic recipes too. Out of print, but well worth any price you might pay.
