Best Po'boy
Have had Parkway and love them...not crazy about Johnny's. How do Domilise and Parasol compare? We usually get a roast beef and either fried shrimp or oysters.
Too many choices..
Will be in N.O. in September and planning away already....It's hard to combine favorites with new places....
Planning lunches at Parkway, August (new), Cochon Butcher
Dinners at Emerils, Herbsaint (new), Parkway (again).
Have a few more meals to fill in....thinking of JWFins (new), Coquette (new), Praline Connection, Restaurant One....or any suggestions???
Naples- Europeo di Matozzi
As tourists, we were ignored....locals got their food way before we did...they didn't help when we asked questions.....and by the way, we were speaking italian.....cheated us with the bill..uncomfortable and unfriendly...this was a big change from the first time we went there.....the first time we went for lunch and there was not many people there...2nd time was an evening with many locals...don't waste a meal....go to Toledo.....and there are plenty of other places.
Please comment
Not till September....have never gotten there before because of the times that they are open
Please comment
Planning our meals for our next trip...
Lunches at August, Parkway, Cochon Butcher & Cassamento
Dinners at Herbsaint, Emerils & then one is open....thinking Praline Connection, Coquette or Dantes?
Would appreciate any thoughts.
Post 11pm dining suggestions & of course critique my food itinerary
Do you even need a jacket at lunch???
Virgin Gorda
There are plenty of options now for shopping and a large variety of food items. You will not have a problem...granted it is going to cost a little more.
Virgin Gorda
No place that we saw for fresh seafood...there are alot of small grocery stores...nothing gourmet, but very good variety compared to what we saw several years ago....just visit all of the stores and decide...it will take only 30 minutes to get to all of them
Virgin Gorda
We love Virgin Gorda....Top of the Baths for a late lunch of coconut shrimp and conch fritters......Saba Rock for lunch, great fish tacos, take the free ferry from Gun Creek.....Little Dix for their Monday night seafood buffet......Fat Virgin, again take the free Biras Creek Ferry....Visit the Baths after the day trippers are gone, Hike up Gorda Peak, Snorkel and swim at Savannah Beach, Spring Bay and Mahoe Bay. Check out traveltalkonline.com
Oyster Festival
Yes, we were there last year....it was fun to check out...wouldn't make a trip just for that but since we were there anyway, it was a good way to spend some time. Lots of food.
Sorrento, Capri Restaurant Recommendations
In Sorrento, we ate at Rubinacchi, outside of the Hotel Eden. It was great with very good prices. The pizza there was excellent....4 euros or so depending on type....pastas were in the 7-10 euro range I believe. We had an excellent pasta with seafood, pasta with shrimp, zucchini and zucchini flowers, stuffed artichoke, stuffed zucchini flowers and fresh strawberries with lemon. Can't wait to go back to Sorrento and eat there. There is an outside garden and inside area. The night we were there it was filled with Italian families.
Termoli/Molise
On one of Lidias TV shows, she spoke of Termoli and Molise and about places along the water that were shacks that sold Pasta like we would sell hot dogs. Does anyone know what and where she was talking about?
Emerils or NOLA
Planning on August for Lunch. We are planning on 2 nicer dinners and 2 nicer lunches and then some casual spots in between.
Emerils or NOLA
Which is a better choice for dinner? Are they too similar to go to both?

Barbados - Naru Restaurant -- Exciting News (April 2011)
Great! That was our favorite restaurant. Excellent location.
HELP! Italy itinerary - Bologna, Naples, and Amalfi Coast
In Naples go to Hosteria Toledo...excellent meal and reasonable. Try to get to Parma and eat at Tribunale...have the pasta with colotello...it was incredible.
Genovese Sauce
Does anyone have a recipe for the Pasta with Genovese Sauce....I had it in Naples at Hosteria Toledo and it was delicious.

Naples- Europeo di Matozzi
We had a very bad experience there Saturday night...arrived and with some difficulty placed our order...the waiter was not very helpful. We watched as others that came in after us received their food and we continued to wait. Finally, after complaining we got our meals, which were nothing to rave about. When it was time to pay the bill, Alfonso, the owner, only gave us a total and then added a 10% service charge, nothing was itemized. We questioned the amount because it was well above what we figured it out to be, but he basically ignored us and practically pushed us out the door. We didn't take it further because we felt uncomfortable, but it left us with a bad taste in our mouth for Naples....until we had a wonderfu meal at Hosteria Toledo, where Anna made us feel like family.

Roman restaurant outside of Rome
We are not looking for a big Easter Dinner, only dinner, which to us can be just a plate of pasta, we always have room for that...I thought I saw it on Cesario's website, but I will look again. thanks!
Roman restaurant outside of Rome
Cesario, the place you suggested. Easter dinner special menu does not have the traditional roman foods offered. I did not ask a similar question....my other question had to do with lunch time, traveling between naples and rome. I am looking for a Roman restaurant for dinner before we leave the next day...why can't we do both????
Roman restaurant outside of Rome
either...we are quite comfortable driving in Italy. We may decide to make a stop on our way down from Pienza towards Sorrento for lunch instead of our last night if we can't find a place.
Roman restaurant outside of Rome
It actually won't be good for us...we will be there on easter sunday and they are showing a special menu....will keep looking...maybe in Frascati???
Roman restaurant outside of Rome
Do they have good amatriciana???? not looking necessarily for fish.
