How to use bourbon?

when i make an apple dutch baby pancake, i like to warm maple syrup over low heat with a splash of bourbon and lemon zest. lemon wedges squeezed on top. to die for!

Tomatoes: what are you doing with them?

i make ketchup, tomato jam, tomato confit, dried tomatoes and straight-up canned tomatoes. BLTs galore. salsa. green tomato salsa.

quick-pickled cherry tomatoes with grilled lamb etc.

smoked tomato soup.

shell pasta, tuna, basil pesto, kalamata olives and cherry tomatoes.

piperade. ratatouille.

and so on!

Dan Bing recipe?

i lived in rural taiwan for 3 years and now i miss those quick, simple, delicious breakfasts of dan bing at the only resto in town. back in canada, i was overjoyed to find the pancakes at my local asian market, but they've since stopped stocking them. needless to say, i'm glad to have found this post!
i have one thing to add: while experimenting with the sauce for dan bing, i inadvertently discovered the exact taste i remembered: good oyster sauce thinned a bit with light soy sauce, and sweetened with a glug of mirin.
