Best ice cream in Boston is..

Ditto. I like Toscanini's, I love Christina's. I used to live halfway between and went to both regularly. A plus for me at Christina's is the wide variety of sorbets - so delicious.

Fenway/Kenmore: Good, cheap restaurants?

I love Otto Pizza, and there are outposts by BU on Comm Ave as well as in Coolidge Corner - both easily accessible to Kenmore. BU's probably about a ten minute walk.

Also it's already been said but to reiterate - I really love Mei Mei. I frequently make trips over there (very out of the way for me) just because it's so delicious. Not a bad walk and SO worth it. You won't regret it.

If you're willing to take the T to Brookline Village, Cutty's is so delicious. Orinoco is great too.

Also, I know it's a chain, but Yard House isn't too bad and has plenty of options. Sweet Cheeks Q is good barbecue and I think you could get out of there for under $20 per person if you're not drinking.

Best Green Line-accessible lunch between Back Bay and Newton?

It sounds like you're looking for a sitdown spot. If that's not the case, Cutty's!! I dream of their sandwiches. You could also walk over to Salty Pig before taking the green line.

Catering party for 15-20

My dream would be to get catering from Sofra. I've also had catering from East Coast Grill that was fun.

There's always ordering online... not the same, but an option!

Cocktails/Lunch after Event at Boston Center for the Arts in the South End.

Masa definitely does brunch - they have the fiesta brunch special I *think* all day Saturday and then earlier on Sunday. If that's what you're looking to do, I'd suggest a reservation.

Saturday evening cocktails for grown ladies

I like Saloon - but it gets CROWDED. If you're at a table, it could be fine, but I've been to the bar on a Saturday evening and had trouble getting to the bar to order a drink. We gave up and left.

Saturday evening cocktails for grown ladies

I think it's a tough balance - finding places with good cocktails that are fun but also where you can stay hours on a Saturday night without feeling like you should get a move on. I'm thinking Inman Square - East Coast Grill isn't what it used to be, but still has fun cocktails and since it's less crowded, you could probably stay a while.

If others have been to Study in Kendall Square, it might be worthwhile to hear what their experience has been.

coconut cake

I walked by the Burdick's in Back Bay and they had a coconut cake with lime something or other in the window and it looked so good I would've stopped if I hadn't been in a rush.

Depending on how lively you like, I'm a big fan of Beehive. I was there late Saturday afternoon last weekend and there wasn't any live music at the time.

Sofra sometimes has it for sale, as well.

The Daily Table - prepared meals from salvaged ingredients

From what I understand, Chelsea Produce, along with many other local grocery stores and the like, partner with the Greater Boston Food Bank to donate food. GBFB then distributes food to local food pantries, shelters, and others in need. It's a great partnership.

Downtown/Back Bay Diners 2015 - what's left?

Definitely not in downtown Boston, but Victoria's Diner in Roxbury feels like an old school diner to me.

This also might be a stretch, but I really love places like Capitol Coffee House and Hungry Traveler. Neither are open Sundays, but they open early every other day. Went to Capitol Coffee House this weekend - ate my bacon egg and cheese on a paper plate, drank out of a styrofoam cup, and got out of there for pretty darn cheap.

Boston restaurant for 21st birthday celebration

It may not be quite "foodie" but I really enjoy Red Lantern for a big group. There's a variety of food and a lot of fun drinks, too. It has a good vibe.

Also Tico can be a lot of fun with a group. It gets loud, but that likely wouldn't be bothering you.

d-bags at alden & harlow

I think the thing I struggle with is that, regardless of whether it's fair, patrons will often threaten to and follow through on taking to Yelp to shame a restaurant, regardless of whether it's deserved. I agree that the restaurant should take a higher road, but in some ways it seems like a double standard to me.

Ditto for Belly - also recently saw a few on the menu somewhere. Alden and Harlow or Oleana, I think?

Restaurant Week Winter 2015

After a quick browse, the standouts to me are Mamma Maria, Sorellina, T.W. Food, EVOO (more for food than ambience), and 80 Thoreau. Rialto, Harvest, and Scampo are all pretty good too. I'm also excited to try Lala Rokh's new menu, though Restaurant Week probably isn't the best time to do so.

Anyone know if Townsman will have a tasting menu?

What new spot would you try?

I really, really love Alden and Harlow - it's a fun space, and the food is so creative and delicious. I highly recommend the vegetable dishes. We almost didn't get the charred broccoli with butternut squash hummus, but it ended up being our favorite on the menu.

In my opinion, Barcelona's a cut below. I wouldn't compare the two.

Hideaway-type bar & apps near Newbury?

I'm struggling a little with hideaway on Newbury - I feel like those are a little bit opposites, at least on the Public Garden end. Lolita is pretty nondescript with plenty of cocktail options. Bar Lola has the who knew this was here vibe, but mostly because I find it pretty missable. I enjoy the bar area at Towne, and I find Met Bar to be pretty predictable in a not bad kind of way.

another suggestion please

Oleana and Sarma immediately pop out to me - getting a seat at the bar at Oleana, at least, can be tough unless you arrive a little before 5:30, but both are great if you can get a reservation.

If you're looking more upscale, I'm currently loving Sorrelina.

Best Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich around

The fried egg and cheddar with mustard butter on any bagel (I recommend the everything) at Bagelsaurus is delicious. Flour's breakfast sandwich is also good, but I find it to be a bit large for a breakfast.

Romantic dinner gift

I love Sorrelina and am not a huge fan of Mistral. Sorrelina isn't the typical red-sauce Italian and it's a wonderful space.
