Looking for new appliances-is white the new SS?

I was never really a fan of stainless steel appliances. I have a few though such as my electric can opener and toaster. Other than that I stick to white or black.

BEST CUTTING BOARDS - Bamboo vs. Others

My favorite is bamboo cutting boards because it is stronger than maple. People do add revilatizing oil on these type of cutting boards because it makes it look more attractive and extends its life.

I know some people prefer plastic cutting boards also. I think it is mainly for the lightness and color. But main thing is what you feel is best.

This article rates the top cutting boards:

Refrigerator/freezer organization

Garage fridge and freeze for the over supply such as extra milk and eggs for foods that I am not planning to use in a week. I move them to the kitchen when I plan and making a meal within a few days.

Cuisinart Food Processor--which model?

The Cuisinart DLC-10S food processor is under $100 on some online stores. There are a lot of Hamilton beach food processors at Walmart that are well below $150. They are like around the $50 range.

Best Pan for Candy

I say go with an aluminum pan since you don't want it to be heavy. The brand Circulon I think has aluminum pans.

Foul odor in fridge

I would wipe it down really good with lysol or other cleaning products.

You can read the wikihow which may help.
http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-Bad...

It basically says use things like baking soda, coffee ground, oats, vinegar or charcoal to clean out the smell.

Tramontina or Cuisinox Warranty Experience

What do you mean that you are worried about the warranties? I think they both have warranties against manufacture defects.

Best Blender for Smoothies?

The Nutri Bullet is like an upgrade version of the magic bullet. You can also check out Hamilton Beach 51101B. It is a similar type of blender, but with less power. For me, I find it convenient that the blender jar acts as a travel cup.

If you want to have another style and use a more traditional blender, then go with an Oster blender. The Oster BVCB07-Z has 600 watts which should be more than enough to blend the ice for your smoothies.

This article talks more about the top blenders for smoothies:

What is the best Chef Knife for the Professional?

Komachi, Wustof, Henckles are good chef's knives. I'm sure others would agree these would be great choices also. I usually use my knife mostly for just chopping so I don't spend a lot on a chef knife.

This article lists a few others with a quick overview of knives:

Life without a microwave?

I rely a lot on my microwave. I am sure I can live without it as long as I have a stove. The stove would require me to keep on eye on while I heat things up though.

Best rice cooker?

There are many that are below $200. I agree with Terret that Zojirush, Tiger, and Panasonic are great brands. Aroma is another rice cooker I would recommend also. They all have difference sizes, features, and price range. You just have to research which one fits your cooking needs.

Found this article for you which compares a few of these rice cookers:
