Food Contest Recommendations

Mac and Cheese - I'm looking for cash prize food contests that I'll be able to participate in with a mac and cheese recipe. Does anyone know of any in New England, East Coast, or other places in the States throughout the year. The more prestigious the better.

Thanks.

Japanese Steak House Restaurant recommendations

If the Steakhouses are more American, then recommendations for both. Steakhouses with fancy knife and fire shows, more casual, and then recommendations for quieter, more authentic restaurants with Japanese cuisine and good interior design, lighting, etc.

Thanks for all your comments too.

Henckel Steak knives made in Spain -- at Homegoods

I just saw a 4-pack of these at Homegoods for $39.99 , and although they're not the original German-made set I'm wondering if these are decent enough quality for the price, and the fact that I don't necessarily need to spend a couple hundred dollars on fancy steak knives right now.

Any experience with them? Will they last awhile? Broken tips, loosening handles, dull quicker?

Stoneware - Le Creuset, Emile Henry

What's the consensus with Le Creuset stoneware? I know it's made in Thailand and China, and I've read reviews ranging from "Best Ever" to "I wouldn't touch the stuff" , which is quite an extreme range.

I found the LeCreuset Poterie ramekin 2-packs at Homegoods for $6.99(and other oval au gratin dishes for great prices). I also like that their volume is more than most.

So with such an extreme view on quality, should I keep these, or go for something like the nice Emile Henry's that'll be $18 for the 2, and a bit smaller.

Any other reviews for the gratin dishes, and Le Creuset stoneware in general? Should I return those for some pricier, French Emile Henry's and/or porcelain dishes.

Thanks.
