Great Mexican and Latin-American Food in Seattle? El Camion has bricks and mortar in Ballard now. Also, El Sabor on Shorline is worth a taste. |

The Lake City Way Elliot Bay Brewing Company makes a really yummy one. |

Yes--there's a place in the Washington State Convention Center (used to be called Juicy Cafe but I think they changed their name) that is very much in hte G-Bar vein. Yum. |

I will be taking my first trip to NOLA next month, wondering if anyone here has taken classes down there? Looks like there are myriad options, all about the same price. Thanks! |

Wok in SEA? Also Meyer lemons. Ranch 99, awesome. Found Meyers at Central Mkt, thanks to all for help! |

Wok in SEA? Also Meyer lemons. I think I'd like to pick up a small simple steel wok. I saw them in SF last week for under $15 but didn't want to lug a wok on the plane. Any specific suggestions for somewhere in town to pick up something similar? Anyone seeing Meyer lemons in stores right now? they come and go, and now I know I should have bought some in SF where they were right off the tree. |

Looking for fun, un-stuffy, Italian style Trattoria in SEA The Pasta Bella in Ballard has a cooler vibe. PB is great, love it. |

I love me some El Sabor. |

Charcuterie/Salumi classes Seattle Do you know how much the classes cost? No info on the website. |

The closest you will get to food from Vij's in Seattle will be to make something out of his cookbook. |

New Chef to the area with a question Yep, everyone in the know goes to Bob Tate. |

cheap source for walnut oil in SEA? No I already checked PFI. |

Aside from convenience, what's the point of a casserole? Making casseroles from scratch with high quality ingredeints is a beautiful thing. OP, my mac and cheese would make you cry. Likewise the Southern Italian Lasagna. Baking the ingredients together makes a completely different dish than cooking it up in a saute pan. |

SEA Did El Puerco Llloron change hands? Things were only a little different. A lot of the license plate hibachis are down, they moved the salsa bar around the corner. No radish + scallion garnish on the plates. All was as it should be with the food except the salsa was not as fresh as it should be. |

Falafel King in Pike Place Market SEA Well bummer it's not the Egyptian guy. How is the downtown place? Zaina is too far for me to get to on a lunch break. |

Falafel King in Pike Place Market SEA Is this the same guy who used to be on 81st and Greenwood? I sure hope so!! |

SEA Did El Puerco Llloron change hands? I went tonight. Still pretty good, but slightly different. Did they change hands? |

Dinner before the show at 5th Avenue Theater and drinks/dessert after? Hi, writing in from the crew room, we are in rehearsals for the show! For drinks after, Vessel right next door to the front door of the theatre is way cool. |

13 bucks for 16 eggs is insanely expensive. |

I have been to the new BSC (as well as the old one) many times and never had any problems....one of my rave faves in town!! |
|

Anyone know a source? I need to get me some for backpacking. TIA |

Am I better off with a dutch oven or a slow cooker? If you get a slow cooker, Goodwill is a good place to get one for less than $10. I suggest getting one that has variable temperature rather than just high and low. I have both a slow cooker and a DO and love them both. |

Ocho, Mike's Chili, and Lunchbox Lab! Yay Ballard food! |
|

Best local source for canning jars? The big Goodwill on Dearborn has TONS of them and they are way cheap. |
|

Where do I find this stuff, it looks even better for making wraps than your basic tortilla. Prefer N. End./Ballardia. TIA. |

I was just recommending his resto and cookbook to a friend earlier today, and you can find his cookbook used for under $20 at Amazon. |

Best Bang for Your Buck in Seattle? There are some pretty spendy places in this list! Pecos Pit BBQ is a very good bargain if you like Texas style BBQ. |

I'm working up a recipe for red pepper hummus for a friend. Anyone have an opinion on what's the best brand of canned garbanzos? My friend will not make hummus from dried, but he'll buy whatever can I suggest. Thanks! |
