I was also inspired to buy the Zuni cookbook here...and although I love the Zuni chicken, Jfood's method for roast chicken posted on the Home Cooking Board is so much easier and comes out perfectly without smoking up the house! As someone upthread mentioned, Jfood's salmon croquettes are really good too. I kind of miss that dog.....

hudson restaurant, briarcliff manor, ny
Many years ago after having recently moved up to the land of ranch style houses and housewives of Westchester County (which I guess I am now) from the big city, we went to one of the previous incarnations of this joint....I recall it being very historical and pretty, and I was thrilled that the live band at dinner featured one of my former neighbors in NYC as the singer...more thrilled that she dedicated their set to my late dog, who was the star of the laundry room in the city...but I digress. Ranch style houses, deeply suburban atmosphere and Westchester housewives notwithstanding, your review of the food and service is quite disturbing, especially given the prices. And that bread.....really?!?!? A slice of diner white bread toast, yikes! Thanks for the warning.
OMG!!! H Mart is opening in Hartsdale, NY!
Thanks for the tip about the pumpkin pancakes--just opened the package and snuck one to try, very delicious! We had lunch at the food court today--bibimbap and spicy Korean pork. Both were very good, and as others have said, huge portions served with rice, kimchee, and tasty spicy cabbage soup all for about $20. I also bought some fresh plump meat dumplings which looked wonderful--I put them in the freezer for now, because I've already "hit" the pumpkin pancakes, and don't want to eat any more Korean delicacies today. I do hope their lawyers can work some magic with the seating ordinance though, it is kind of unpleasant to hover (and be hovered on) to get a place to sit and eat!

Jim, how was the sashimi? I saw that huge package for $16 but was reluctant to buy it because I noticed that a packaged slab of tuna for sashimi still had the bloodline on it, and that is a huge turn-off for me.

I got the store-made fresh (not frozen, although I froze them when I got home) pancakes--they were cooking them up and giving samples when I was there (twice now). They have mung bean, seafood, vegetable, and scallion which can be be purchased separately or in a variety package. I just love them! Also tried the marinated meats--bulgogi, pork belly and chicken thighs, all of which were excellent and very low priced---especially loved the pork. Had a feast with assorted banchan at home--so grateful this wonderful market has come to Westchester!
Myong restaurant in Mount Kisco, NY
After looking at the menu even with $25 off this is a ridiculously overpriced restaurant, especially given the mediocre to poor reviews on yelp and other sites--interested in hearing about any recent reviews.

Another happy customer! Finally got over yesterday, and spent so much time just looking around that I forgot where I parked my car...As others have pointed out, the fish department is fantastic, I was thrilled to see monkfish liver. The frozen dumpling section was overwhelming, in a good way. I bought some assorted store-made Korean pancakes, one of which is more delicious than the other. Friendly staff were handing out wonderful samples throughout the market. I did not partake of the food court, but the line was very long. Looking forward to my next visit!
Help--Jury Duty in White Plains
Thanks for all the suggestions!! Due to the nasty weather, too little time for a sit-down lunch, and the fact that I wouldn't bring strongly scented food into the jurors lounge (although I LOVE it), I went with Elisa's idea of buying a good sandwich on the way in. Thanks again, hounds!
Help--Jury Duty in White Plains
Unfortunately with just a shade over an hour for lunch, a 5-10 block walk isn't feasible...again I ask, anything CLOSE to the county courthouse for a decent QUICK lunch? Thanks!
Help--Jury Duty in White Plains
Any suggestions for a fast, close lunch other than the disgusting food court in the Galleria?? Thanks!!
Wobble Cafe (Ossining) - any good?
It's a funky, fun restaurant for kids with fresh, homemade food. I like their omelets, migas, pannini and crepes. They serve real maple syrup, and if you like hot sauce, be sure to ask for their housemade mango hot sauce. I have never had their french toast, but I am curious, rpk, what about it was so bad, thanks? Here is their website:

Thanks for the tip (although the deal is not valid on Friday or Saturday). If you try it, please report back, we haven't been there in awhile. Thanks!
Croton Outdoor Winter Market replaces Briarcliff Indoor Market
That would be a parking nightmare--as it is now, I sometimes can't even get a spot in the overflow lot during busy times. Last Saturday I circled the whole lot twice before deciding to head over to Turco's instead. If we thought parking at Briarcliff was tough.....
Kummelweck rolls in Westchester?
You can "doctor up" good kaiser rolls--brush with beaten egg white, sprinkle with kosher salt and caraway seeds and bake at 350 for about 10 minutes.
Mytho's in Thornwood Town Center
Thank you! Don't know how I missed the Times review--looks like a definite try soon!
Mytho's in Thornwood Town Center
Is the food all house made (i.e. taramasalata, other dips)? Pictures on the website look a little cafeteria-ish, how is the ambiance? Do they serve wine? Thanks!
Great new farm to table restaurant in Briarcliff called Good Food
On Pleasantville Road--what used to be the empanada joint
French American Bistro, Mount Kisco
The offer is $38 for one appetizer and two entrees from the menu (with a few exceptions, such as dover sole, raw bar, etc.). The value seems good, but only if the food is! I agree with restaurant.com, and I have also gotten some good savings from livingsocial.com...

Any feedback on F.A.B? It's today's groupon deal.
lots of cranberries left--any healthy ideas?
I HAVE tried this recipe--I used VERY ripe bananas and found the sweetness fine for my taste--this is not a cake, it's a quick bread--certainly not as sweet as traditional banana bread, but I thought it was good considering it is not loaded with sugar and fat.
excellent food but awful service [La Camelia, Mt. Kisco]
Thanks for posting, win...I am suspicious when a first time poster's only review is negative..especially for a restaurant with reportedly "wonderful" food!?!? If the OP returns--please contribute something positive, what restaurants in Westchester do you like?

I think so, I didn't pay but--it was about 1.5 pounds and 24.95 (I think)
