Kyubey Tokyo (Ginza)

Thanks for everyones input! I have made a reservation at Sushi Iwa for Friday night and will be dining at Takazawa on Saturday. Will report back after the weekend of March 9.

It will be my wife and I dining and celebrating our 10th wedding Anniversary so I was hoping for the absolute best sushi (nigris) experience possible. Budget (like salary) depends on qualifications...I have no problem spending up to 25-30K/pp...if the food and dining experience live up to the price.

I definitely tried to get one of those two (Saito or Mizutani), but obviously came up empty. :)

We are open to Friday night dinner or a Saturday lunch. Thanks again for your help Ninisix and babreu.

Thank you Ninisix. Kyubei ended up being one of the easiest places to get a reservation at this point. My host in Tokyo attempted to reserve a place at Sushi Saito, but was unable. I would definitely prefer a sushi master over Kyubei, but not being in Tokyo (or Japan for that matter) or being able to speak Japanese makes things a bit difficult to secure a reservation...unless I'm missing something?? I would be more than happy to cancel the Kyubei reservation for something of better quality and availability for Friday March 8 dinner. Suggestions on places or what else I can do to get a reservation at a top notch place? Thanks and know that I really respect your insight and opinion. :)

Kyubey Tokyo (Ginza)

Hi everyone...

I've been reading on here for a while and have not been able to find an answer to my question. I have reservations for dinner at Kyubey (Kyubei) in Ginza but it seems that most simply order Omakase. Can anyone tell me the difference between their different dinner options listed on their menu (other than the price) or should I just order Omakase for dinner? Thanks a bunch!
