Best Bread in Detroit Region

I just discovered The Rye Bakery in Flushing. Little far to the north, but worth checking out in my opinion.

FREAKIN' UNBELIEVABLE BURGERS & FRIES. (DTW/Flint)

So I was up in Flint a for a fantastic "Punk Rock Rummage Sale", looking for something good to eat when I stumbled upon what looked like a fast-food joint called Freakin' Unbelievable Burgers & Fries, and had to give it a shot. Now first off, the decor is awesome; minimalist, modern, industrial. Do they live up to the name? ABSO-FREAKIN-LUTELY. The only have one location as of right now, but I believe they will be franchising soon. Hopefully very soon, as I've already made a second hour-long trip up to Flint JUST to have another burger. Check out their menu on the website, there's too many options for me to even attempt to describe. http://www.freakinburgers.com/ (Pictured is the Drunken Mushroom Burger)

What is your favorite sandwich in Metro-Detroit?

The Wooden Spoon in Brighton and the (French) Laundry in Fenton both have really great sandwiches, my all-time favorite being the The Apple Orchard at The Wooden Spoon: Brie, apple butter, spiced walnuts, sour apples & apple cider
Vinaigrette tossed arugula on multi-grain roll. It sounds different and quite sweet but it isn't, the flavors all melt together in an amazing way, you have to give it a shot.

Casual in Ann Arbor?

La Marsa is like...my favorite restaurant. We have one in Brighton now, and while their food isn't quite "traditional" middle eastern, it's sooooooooo good. They put some fantastic twists on the traditional recipies, and I believe their style is more Egyptian. Needless to say, FANTASTIC FOOD.

It should also be noted that Sava (correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't been there in 10 years or so) is almost entirely vegan. Good stuff though, used to always get yam fries and a giant burrito.

There's also NYPD (New York Pizza Depot), which I had never had until recently. It's mostly reheat by-the-slice deep dish. I don't have any issue eating reheated pizza, as I'm pretty sure anything with a red sauce just gets better over time, plus they have interesting choices, such as eggplant, which was delicious. It's also fast and very filling.

Casual in Ann Arbor?

I suggest searching "Restaurants near Hill Auditorium" on Google maps. You will see why this is difficult to narrow down, as there are a TON of restaurants within walking distance. Based on the walk alone, I'd suggest dining somewhere in the S. University area so you can walk through the Diag.

Goat in the DTW area?

Yeah I think I knew about the Jamaican Jerk Pit somewhere in the back of my brain...but cooking it myself sounds like an even better idea. Gonna check the web for farms, thanks everyone, I don't know why I didn't think of cooking it myself.

Goat in the DTW area?

I'm in Brighton, so Ann Arbor is probably my best bet, but I'm looking for any place that offers goat on the menu. Anyone?

Novi - Business Lunch??

Andiamo's Novi location has an awesome lunch menu, and it's always nice and quiet at that time. Pricey at night but actually pretty reasonable for lunch, especially for the quality.

DTW: Poutine without leaving the US?

A ways away from the cities, Mikey's Burgers and Fries has traditional salty delicious poutine. Beef gravy, mozzarella curds, and some awesome fries, which you could also top with the provided vinegar, which is exciting to see in itself. They have another location in the Sunoco gas station in Howell, but the Brighton strip mall location has seating and a bigger menu, including an awesome garlic parmesan burger. Gourmets, keep in mind this is a traditional greasy burger joint, jukebox and all. In my opinion, awesome.
