I stopped going too a few years ago. Now I like Valleyfields that is at Curlew and Lawrence (west of Vic Park) -- that is what th Wex used to be like, including mor reasonabl prices.

Yeah, you're probably right. The other couple made the reservation.
It really is black and white 'tho about the whole experience of table vs. bar. But I also remember that the individual pieces were "nicer" at the bar too.
I guess I have learned my lesson. Only ever sit at the bar.

Was there a few weeks ago and was really disappointed in the Omakase. I had talked it up to the other couple. The chefs seemed more interested in the bar than the tables.
Probably won't be back as the prices they charge should mean a good experience, not just going through the motions.

Yeah. We bought some chairs that turned out to be crap. Had to get two replacements as the wood split. Think they came from China. Later on I saw the same ones for less. Never again.

The area that they are in is dead after 6pm and on weekends. They open early to get the breakfast traffic. I think their hours are fine for them.

Was there today and opening is still two weeks+ away. They're getting the POS next week and then comes the staff training after that.
New Five Guys Burgers Location coming soon!
Just tried the burger and fries. Burger tasted very good. Couldn't tell if it was greasy as the toppings masked that aspect. I had a double with cheese and bacon, but would recommend just the single patty and skip the cheese and bacon as the toppings add enough extra tastes.
Fries were good and maybe a bit undercooked.
Did it as takeout as less than 10 minutes away by fast car.

About a month ago the chef said July. It was drywalled and they were tiling it a week ago.
Good Chinese delivery to Victoria Park and Eglinton?
We tried Holima out recently. They are pretty good! And the quantities are large. We paid $34 and had 5 meals from the order. Liked the garlic ribs and the breaded chicken with mushrooms. Would give the lobster sauce a pass. One thing we both noticed is how fresh and well prepared the shrimps are.
The funny thing is that we have lived 10 minutes away for more than 22 years and never tried them. Think this is because they are only open for dinner and the blinds are askew and half opened when you go by. Even the "open" light isn't on. The place doesn't look that great from the outside. If they would do a bit of sprucing up it would sure help...............
