Our go-to Philly restaurants are:
-Dmitri's on 2nd & Catherine
-Butcher & Singer
-Amis & Vetri
-The Dandelion
-Barbuzzo

Hope that helps!

Thanks everyone so far for the replies and recommendations - lots to choose from! So far we are definite for:
-Sat night dinner: Island Creek Oyster Bar
Sunday dinner: Probably in the North End, still have not decided where
Monday Dinner: Montien

Couple of quick questions though:
- Is Sam la Grassa's open on the weekends?
- Is Giacomo worth the wait?
- Thinking of possibly doing the Fenway tour on Monday, where should we do lunch around there?

Ok you talked me out of Atlantic. We were able to get a 5:30 reservation at ICOB. May call to see if we can get it later if they have something open up, but if not, would rather go independent vs chain.

Is there a different Italian place you would recommend in the North End?

Also, we are thinking of doing brunch near our hotel on Sunday. Any recommendations?

Hi Catsmeow - thanks for your reply. We live in the greater Philadelphia area, which has a great food scene and variety.

We were thinking of definitely doing seafood one night, the North End for dinner and walking around, and possibly an Asian Fusion (we would love to find a great Thai place).

Last Minute Help For Upcoming Trip To Boston

Hi All,

My wife and I are heading to Boston this weekend for 4days/3nights and need some recommendations for meals while there. We are staying at the W Hotel Boston. We do enjoy walking and have no problem walking 30-45mins around town to go to somewhere good. We will not have a car, would rather not deal with a taxi or public transportation unless its a must.

So far we have "tentatively" planned to go to Atlantic Fish on Sat night, Giacomo's on Sunday after spending the day walking the Freedom Trail, and not sure about dinner for Monday night. Nothing for breakfast or lunch yet for any days.

We welcome any thoughts on places to go! We are looking at mid-level pricing ie $50 or less for breakfast/lunches and $150 or less for dinners. Thoughts?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Where To Eat In Atlanta For This Northerner

Thanks for the recommedations so far. After thinking about it, we decided to go ahead and rent a car. Figured in the end it probably would be better to get around the city then the Metro. Now that we have the car, any other spots would be appreciated!

Where To Eat In Atlanta For This Northerner

Hi all,

My family and I are coming down to Atlanta for 5 days and looking for good restaurants that are close to our hotel. We are staying at the Downtown Hilton; we are a family of 4 adults with a 16-month old. We would like to walk to most of the restaurants, but understand that this may be difficult in Atlanta. Also, we like all styles of food and probably would prefer places that can handle a little one making noise and us having a good time!

We currently have reservations for the South City Kitchen for the one night, however, we still are looking for other places to go to. Four of the nights will be the 5 of us, and then 1 night will just be my wife and myself. Please let us know what you would recommend for our family.

Thanks!

Bucks/Mont. County Specialty Shops/Stores/Restaurants

Great responses so far! Does anyone know of a good Asian store in Buxco?

Bucks/Mont. County Specialty Shops/Stores/Restaurants

Having moved to Bucks county in the last 2 years, I am slowly putting together a list of places to go to get authentic, quality foods instead of going to the big box called Acme or Ginuardi's. For example, we get our bagels at Bagel Junction in Newtown, our German sausages at Riekers in Rockledge, and our vegatables from some of the local farmer markets. We love to shop the small, local places to give them support in the community plus IMO the overall better quality of product.

So, my question to you is where do you go to get a specialty or authentic food in Bucks or Mont. County? I want to anything and everything - the more we stay out of the big box store, the better!

Hello all,

I need to find a decent, relatively inexpensive place to go with 7 people tonight for dinner. We are meeting friends "halfway" in KoP, and would rather stay away from the big chains. It doesn't have to be "dirt" cheap, but nothing that we are going to spend $15-20/pp. Pizza shops or nice family restaurants would be great - just somewhere to sit down, having a relaxing dinner before driving back. Any ideas? Thanks

Friday Night Pre-Theater

Went to Prima Donna for pre-theater dinner a few nights ago, and to be honest, it was horrible. From terrible service to food just "not that good!" I was severly disappointed as the place came highly recommended. Overall, it was our first and last trip there!

The great cheesesteak debate...what would you trade it for?

Having lived in Texas for a few years, I would gladly trade a cheesesteak & fries for some good old Texas brisket BBQ, a side of baked beans, cole slaw, and nice piece of jalapeno bread!! Heaven on a plate! (or a piece of parchment paper depending where you go)!!!

Yet, while living there, I would have killed for a decent hoagie roll for a true Philly bakery!! I guess it's all relative!
