Happy Hour recommendations needed, Boston & Cambridge
Also in the Charles is Noir - they have a fun happy hour bar menu
$1 Oysters Legal Seafood Outdoors at the Charles Hotel Cambridge
i second rialto - they're offered in the bar only so you don't get sucked in too far. i've been with friends who have eaten over 4 dozen, each...
Green Street Grill, maybe the kitchen was having an off night?
Wow, I was actually just thinking the exact same thing. I've been going quite a bit this spring and have been surprised by how much I like their food (especially the beet salad), but last time I went everything was just off. We had an octopus appetizer that was basically impossible to cut and inedible because it was so chewy, and the mains were salty and just underwhelming. Their cocktails do remain amazing.

Four Seasons bar inexpensive lunch prix-fixe?
I've been hearing things about an inexpensive prix-fixe lunch (or maybe just lunch?) at the Four Seasons bar - do people know what the prices are like and whether you need reservations or not? Apologies if this has been mentioned before but I did a few searches and couldn't find anything!

Brunch near Lincoln Center?
Bar Americain (Bobby Flay) is not super close but is not a bad walk (152 west 52) and isn't ridiculously crowded. Get the tasting of all the shellfish cocktails.

Basic and healthy / organic dinner recommendations
Awesome, thanks! I'll look into Green Table and Market Table. Agreed about Josie's - it's the only one I've been to (for brunch) and it's not quite what I'm looking for. I'm also considering some vegetarian / vegan places (Pure Food and Wine or Blossom), so thoughts on those would also be appreciated!
Basic and healthy / organic dinner recommendations
I'm looking for a restaurant that satisfies any (and hopefully all) of the following criteria:
- Basic food (traditional, comfort, etc)
- Healthy (low carb options, etc)
- Organic
- Local sustainable food
- Farmer / greenmarket focus
for dinner for 2 people. Some options I've been thinking about include:
- Blue Hill
- Josie's
- Five points / cookshop / hundred acres
- Savoy
Would appreciate any comments on any of these places as well as suggestions for other ones.
Trendy and high quality Japanese restaurant in London

Etcetera Etcetera does really good italian as well as solid brunch food. Staff are really friendly and it's not usually too busy

Trendy and high quality Japanese restaurant in London
I'm visiting London with my family this week and am looking for a really nice Japanese restaurant for dinner one night. We are big fans of Yauatcha in London, and in New York we really love Matsugen, Jewel Bako, Sakagura and Ippudo. Budget is not a consideration. Any recommendations?
Breakfast/dinner around 50th st and 3rd ave
really good and inexpensive thai place, although unfortunately i'm not sure if they're open on weekends. that whole block has a bunch of cute small restaurants

midtown dessert place/cafe/tea house for late night
looking for a fun dessert place in midtown (20s-60s, ideally between madisonish and 8thish) to meet up with a friend. most of the dessert places that come to mind are either in the wrong location (cafe lalo in upper west, cha-an, max brenner, dessert truck in lower east) or a little boring (pinkberry or red mango in ktown). are there any good dessert places in midtown?! scary that this is new york city and i can't think of any...
interesting dessert thread if you are interested in all dessert places

Ideas for small work event (wine tasting, chocolate making, etc)
I am planning a work event for 5 people in early December, and we're looking to do something more fun than the traditional dinner. The budget is around $100/person.
A few of my current ideas:
- A wine tasting/food pairing at the Monday Room
- Chocolate making at La Maison du Chocolat
Any other suggestions? Beer tasting? Cooking classes? Cigar places?
nice place in soho that is vegetarian friendly?
looking for a nice dinner spot for 4 pple in soho. We were thinking blue ribbon but they don't seem to be that vegtarian-friendly (there is one vegetarian in our group). Thoughts?
Best champagne bars nationwide

Champagne Bar at the Liberty Hotel - Boston
Upscale Italian Dinner Near the Common
sorellina doesn't have any spots until 9:30, but i'd rather have an earlier dinner time - between via matta and teatro, what would you recommend in terms of ambience? my friend had a birthday dinner at teatro and enjoyed it, but would it be okay for 2 people? from its website, the via matta dining area doesn't look that intimate.
Upscale Italian Dinner Near the Common
what do you think about those as compared to sorellina?
Upscale Italian Dinner Near the Common
I'm looking for a nice, upscale Italian restaurant near the common that might have reservations for 2 for tonight! I'd really like to go someplace with a romantic atmosphere and definitely one that serves good gnocchi. Any suggestions?
Mohegan Sun WineFest / Approaches for Large Wine Tastings
thanks, both of you! we ended up only making it out on sunday, and although there were supposedly over 1,000 wines, i'm sorry to say we probably only got through about 40-50. it was hard to stick to a single varietal just because each booth had several and we didn't want to have to circle back to all of them, but we still managed to taste a bunch of different wines within certain varietals. interestingly, our favorite wine probably ended up being the only ice wine in the whole place! it was an absolutely amazing covey run ice wine.
