Japan's Fukurou izakaya has opened a New York branch

I don't think amazing is overdoing it. The quality of food, the prices, and the atmosphere makes it amazing in my opinion. For a laid back place to hang out with a few friends and laugh it up over really good Japanese food I think is an adequate reason. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves which is rare to say at many other restaurants I have found.

I don't go to restaurants for just the food. I go for the experience. My friends and I were full, happy, and didn't gasp at the bill after drinking the night away.

That, my dear friend is amazing... I stand firm by my opinion...

If you read the menu they have outside it may be a bit baffling. The menu in the restaurant has pictures of all the foods and it makes a world of a difference. I have a friend who is not very adventurous at eating and he enjoyed the food there. We order seared yellowtail and the salmon. It was very fresh and amazing. The atmosphere was welcoming and laid back. There were many different kinds of Sake to ordered and we tried a few. The prices were great for two people. (10 bucks each split between two people and we ordered 3!) 15 bucks a person and I was definitely toasty at the end. Our server Takuya was very attentive! The food was fresh and out of this world! I recommend the Tamago Yakisoba dish! The foods actually turned out to be not so crazy! They are creative and different but pretty traditional and well put together in my opinion.

Between the nice atmosphere, the great food, and the amazing Sake... I really let go and enjoyed myself. This is definitely a place to just chill and enjoy with friends!
