Honestly, I had trouble finding where Denver posting were when I first came on here. I don't consider Denver in the Southwest...
Anyway, best authentic Mexican, IMHO: Tacos y Salsas
Denver ethnic and ice cream
My favorite place for tacos in Denver is Tacos y Salsas. I go to the location on Federal & Kentucky, which is pretty far from where you'll be- but they have a location at about Colfax & Yosemite, which is slightly closer to where you'll be. Amazingly authentic (try the carnitas or barbacoa tacos) and a salsa bar with at least 7-9 fresh offerings.
My other favorite ethnic stop is Ba Le Sandwiches for Vietnamese bahn-mi. It is also on Federal Blvd.
Best ice cream in Denver is at Liks, on 14th & Race!! Hands down. There's also a great gelato place downtown called Gelazzi, on Larimer Square.
