Naked Fish, Lucille's & ?

Just drove by and a new sign is up - something along the lines of "The Fat Cactus". And I, too, have seen the Bostonville Grille truncks there frequently.

boston dinner with 10 teenagers

My 16 year-old daughter recently went to Fire & Ice with a group of girls. They all very much enjoyed it.

North End Italian LUNCH with kids!

I agree, Mother Anna's. Worked great for me a couple of years ago in the same situation.

Need help - 6 teenagers for dinner on Saturday

Hi - Reporting back on tonight's dinner. After the very cold tree lighting, we ended up at Joe's American Bar & Grill. It was a hit with the girls and I enjoyed my burger at the bar (fries, not so much)! They even comped a piece of chocolate cake complete with candle for the birthday girl! Thanks for all of your ideas - I really appreciated them.

Yup, I was trying to avoid the Hard Rock but I also know the girls would probably like it. So it's a maybe on the list. Thanks for all the ideas. If there's any other place outside of the North End that something thinks might work, by all means, let me know!

Need help - 6 teenagers for dinner on Saturday

Help! I'm taking my daughter, who is turning 16, to Boston on Saturday with 5 of her girlfriends. They'll do the holiday stuff at Faneuil Hall and then I want to take them out to dinner. I was hoping for some place located around Faneuil Hall or in the North End. The problem is that I can't think of anyplace that will work. Of course, I'd prefer someplace that takes reservations and that won't be outrageously expensive. A red sauce type of place in the North End that either takes reservations or won't be mobbed around 6/6:30 would be perfect! Anyone with any ideas for me? Thanks!!

Caffe Amore, Wakefield,MA

That's too bad that you "felt forced not to dine there" because you missed out on a great dinner. Actually, now that I think about it, I'm glad you aren't going to eat there because it leaves a table open for me and my husband. We've been going to Cafe Amore for years now and have always enjoyed our experiences there. Terry, the owner, is a hard worker and always makes our dinner at Cafe Amore enjoyable. It is what it is - a small restaurant - and you should understand that means if she's got reservations, her open tables are limited. From your description, it sounds like my husband and I ate at the the same table recently that you declined and had no problems. It's not like there's a lot of traffic in and out to bother you. The last time we where there another couple gladly accepted the smallest 2-top there by the door and seemed to make the best of it - as I would have as well. Perhaps it's not what you expected but believe me, it's a good restaurant offering good food at a good price. It's one of our favorite places and I often recommend it to our friends. Also, I have no knowledge of them closing in the near future - I wonder where you heard this from. My recommendation is to try Cafe Amore and see for yourself how good it really is.

READING MARKET BASKET

The rumor I heard was that the S&S in Reading was going to be a Christmas Tree Shop. There's hardly anyone ever at that store as I drive by to go to the new Market Basket. Remember, the fairly new S&S in Danvers (Liberty Tree Mall) closed recently and I've heard it's going to turn into a Nordstrom's Basement sort of store.

Lunch on Saturday - Copley Square?

We, my husband and I, are heading into Boston for a quick getaway - an overnight stay at the Westin Copley Place - next Saturday. I have some ideas for dinner but have got absolutely nothing for lunch. Anyone have any ideas?

Lunch - Walking distance from the hotel would be good but T accessible would work too. Something fun, good food, good beer/cocktails. I figure we'll just be walking around town, so anything from Copley Place to the North End would work.

Dinner - My ideas are: Prezza (been), Taranta (been), Sorrellina (never been) and Icuras (never been, got the idea from the recent Grotto/Icuras thread). Price not a factor although I'd like to keep it from being ridiculous, love italian (that's obvious), looking for great food and great wine. Which would you pick and why?

Thanks!
