yes, that is very possible---we just don't eat that much so we can't really justify paying over 50 for just an entree. Thanks much!

New Year's Eve in NOLA (Visiting from NYC) - Have Reservations

I have reservations at Emeril's, Herbsant and Restaurant R'evolution. Which one do I go to?

Or do you have another place to recommend? Either GD, CBD, or FQ.

I've been to Emeril's before, but don't remember it, because I was very young. My husband and I are mostly vegetarian, but eat fish from time to time. We don't want to spend more than 50 per person on food.

Thanks.

Well, I think Herbsaint is a little more pricey than the above, but I am still considering it.

Thanks RGR! I appreciate your reply. Vegan was mostly "for short" for the headline...but it was also for function in the body, as he will eat egg/cheese, but he prefers not to. Hope that makes sense. Thanks again! Have great day. Greensquare sounds great.

Anniversary dinner - this Fri. - must please a vegan

Hi all,

I need a place for dinner this Friday. Manhattan (ideally below 23rd) or Brooklyn.

Can't be too pricey - ex. most entrees between 15 and 26 bucks.

Can't have fois gras on the menu, just can't support that.

I'm not a vegan, but my husband is. Don't really like Asian food (I do like sushi, but he doesn't eat fish) or Indian. Any ideas?

I went through Zagat and Yelp extensively, but nothing was really exciting me. And I was mostly coming up with Italian which we eat quite a bit of all year round. The hard part is vegan friendly entrees. He isn't a true vegan, he will eat cheese and eggs, but he prefers not to eat them in big portions--i.e. it can't have a big poached egg as the star protein or a big hunk of cheese as the main ingredient.

I have a reservation with Pepolino, but some of their recent yelp reviews have me with second thoughts, since it's kind of out of our way. Just was wondering if anyone had any ideas as I spent hours combing reviews and menus, and am not really too pleased with the results.

Thanks in advance.

Dublin Foodies to the rescue - thanks in advance

Hi there,

I live in NYC and have never been to Dublin. Meeting a very important person for the first time, a relative of my spouse.

Can anyone recommend a well-established upscale eatery near any of the following areas: Terenure, Rathgar, or Rathmines or The Triangle?

Appreciate it!

Quick question will take 2 seconds! Thanks!

I wasn't trying to be funny. I'm just not that picky.

It is for my anniversary so was just wanting the best (within budget) not a certain cuisine.

Thousands can't all be "the best" (within a reasonable price range) that's why I didn't think it was that vague of a question. Appreciate your time and sorry that you thought I was joking.

The best restaurant in Manhattan (that's under 40 per person for entree-only, provided person ordered an average-priced entree, for that venue for dinner). Thanks in advance!

Chowhounds: hoping for advice on where to go (birthdays and wedding anniv. rolled into one)

Hi Everyone,

My husband and I happen to have birthdays within 5 days of each other and we actually got married a year ago on March 7th, which is in between our 2 birthdays.

Was hoping for a place with solid vegetarian options (not totally veggie - not Candle 79, not Dirt Candy, not Blossom) not a veggie place, just a place with good options.

Looking for the best food (any type) that has entrees between 15-40 bucks (with most of the items being 20-30). Needs to be available for this Saturday (not totally booked up, for example Blue Hill was sold out). Just care about the food, not service or decor. Can be anywhere in Manhattan but prefer below 86th Street. Any ideas greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi Chowhound Experts: Manhattan Restaurant Search - Help appreciated

Thanks, Leah.

I do use Open Table quite a bit , but I know that chowhound denizens have their finger on the pulse of the awesome (and new) dinner spots which might not be on open table yet (the new and not so new). I put into opentable a table for 15 people at 7pm on 12/8/09 and I selected Murray Hill and no valid restaurants appeared. They all said that they either wouldn't take a reservation for that size, or that my time wasn't available and that nothing was available on 2 hours on either side of 7pm.

Appreciate your help.

Hi Chowhound Experts: Manhattan Restaurant Search - Help appreciated

Hi Chowhound-ers!

I'm hoping that some can help me with picking a restaurant.

-needs to take reservations for a party of 15 (example: I wanted Casa Mono but they don't seat parties that big; six is their limit)

- need to be between 14th and 42nd streets and somewhere between 2nd and 8th Avenues

- not too expensive. I'd say out of five dollars signs, I would prefer something that's a two or a three. $$-$$$. Possibly a low four, but not a five.

-Anything except asian or indian. I love asian and indian but this is for a work dinner and I want to pick something broad

-prefer a place that isn't too stuffy or formal

Thanks in advance!!!

Chowhounds: “Picky eater challenge” - thanks in advance!

Thanks goodhealthgourmet - and Latin is allowed. I think that the idea is a fun scene, interesting people and wacky decor, more than fun food. Hudson cafe might work. Thanks again!
