I need SF dinner suggestions...

Thank you for your time! Really no food is ruled out. I think a balance of land and sea food is great. We will want to linger over a appetizer or good salad before dinner. My brothers and their wives would appreciate a great grilled veal chop or a hearty cioppino over something as delicate as a bouride with a lobster foam. Some years ago we went to Garibaldi on Presidio and I remember it being a good choice. But I want something else this time. The $20+ entree is fine. It's a 70th birthday.

Anywhere to eat in Joshua Tree?

Any thoughts?

Dim Sum anyone?

For now I'm looking in the city. Thanks for letting me know about Millbrae! If you want to drop a couple of restaurant names, I'd like to hear them.

What is good at Porto's?

The only thing I would travel there for are the small ham croquettes!

Dim Sum anyone?

I used to go to New Asia in China Town but don't think it's that great anymore. I have not found a good place yet. Any suggestions?

I need SF dinner suggestions...

I am planning a surprise 70th birthday party, party of 8 to 10 on a Saturday night in January, and need some suggestions. All of live in other parts of the country. Any ideas are appreciated! We will probably stay near Union Square but are willing to go anywhere. A lovely view could be nice but it's more about the food, service and evening. I want good portions, not the most expensive restaurant in town, but certainly not the cheapest!
Thanks in advance!
