San Franciscan foodie visiting Atlanta...next week

hi there fellow people of Atlanta,,, serious foodie visiting your neck of the woods for the first time for a family gathering. Heard good things about Atlanta, but really don't know where to begin. I have been in the restaurant business for the past 10 years and still lovin'n it!

I like to visit restaurant that are iconic to the southern hospitality of what Georgia, locally comfort foods famous and where to hangout to try local fare and really make my 3 day trip worth my while.
Also, always interested in any local fast food places that I can not find in San Francisco. Any interesting bakeries, and coffee houses? recommend a semi-fancy restaurant, fine dining, I like to see and compare the difference of what atlanta has to offer to San Francisco.

where to site visit, where to take pictures and most of all WHERE TO EAT?
thanks,

Famous Food Quote...food vs. personality...?

I can't remember a interesting quote that goes something like this...
" if you do not enjoy foods, then you probably don't have much of a personality."
I think it might have been from Julia Child, or some other poet.
Anyone have any idea? thanks,

Din Tai Fung Dumpling House: New Location

hi there, planning to visit the new location for DTF, can anyone comment on the operating hours? Is it the same time as the old store? Can anyone comment on the food, is it also the same quality as the old one? thanks,
friends have recently visited the original location and have mentioned that the food quality has dropped? perhaps its due to the opening of the new location, and also mentioned that getting a table for lunch is not as difficult as it once was, true?

Wedding banquet in San Jose...

family friend is getting married, and ask for any recs for a Chinese restaurant that can accommodate at least 200-300 people for a wedding, (my guess, 8,000 - 10,000- square feet). of course it has to be reasonably priced and good eats. I am not too familiar with the south bay area, any recs would be greatly appreciated, thanks,

oh, and between food and price... the price is probably more a priority!

Pinkberry is coming to Stanford, Palo Alto

I came across an advertisement on craigslist saying they were hiring for all staff members, did not mention an opening date; us northern californians are finally getting our fair share of the popular Pb yogurt fixings. Fraiche and Harmony, get ready for some Iron Chef battle, and the secret ingredient is "frozen yogurt".

I don't understand what all this hype about PB? is it really that good, I have yet to try it, just don't understand what makes it so addicting? Are there other yogurt shops that serve just as good a product?

If I decide to try PB, which one should I visit, and wanting to know what other frozen yogurt shops are worth a visit next time in the neighborhood? thanks,

Do you like no-knead bread better than kneaded bread?

i enjoy kneading the bread, the way we were taught at school was the old fashioned way.
Your recipe sounds simple and sounds like it yields a great product, I also have a great and simple recipe for ciabatta, care to exchange ideas?
