Yu N Mi Sushi

Went there several weeks ago and was profoundly disapointed. Every piece of fish tasted the same...covered in sauces and garnish. The rolls were good, but clunky attempts at constructing something innovative. The beer was cold, so that was good. The price was around $50 each. If you're looking for great sushi go to Nishimora $$$$, Sushi Time $, Echigo $$, Sushi Zo $$, Sushi Sushi $$ or really anywhere else that's not Yu N Mi.

Disapointed at Lucky Devil's

We went last Wednesday because we heard the burgers were amazing. Ordered one of their many excellent beers though not enough were on tap and ordered the Kobe Beef Burger. After being told that the kitchen has a problem cooking their burgers rare my buddy and I ordered ours medium rare and they came out well done. I've read that this is a problem at LD's, but apart from the overcooked meat the flavors of the Kobe (if it really is Kobe and not just typical Wagyu), were comparable to Ralph's lean meat. Not a trace of buttery fat in the entire annoyingly molded patty. The bun was pretty dry as well and the fries, though very good, get old fast and don't keep you clamoring for more.

We didn't stick around for their famous dessert. Went instead to Lou for some wine and cheese.

Looking for places to buy sustainably-raised meat

Question about Harvey Guss. Can anyone buy from there? Is there a minimum?

Looking for a great seafood merchant to buy excellent live lobsters. Better if closer to Hollywood, but willing to travel. Chinatown?

Great butcher in Hollywood/LA area

love their cuts, but i often go there looking for something...short ribs, veal liver, caul fat etc. and they don't have it. or it's too expensive for what should be a cheap cut because of supply and demand. i'm really looking for a great ethnic butcher, Italian, Spanish, French who has a lot of selection.

Top dishes at ANGELINI OSTERIA??

I was there two weeks ago and had the veal liver with mashed potatoes. Outstanding. Also the pizza is like air. Always get the lasagna as an appetizer and if they have John Dory get it no matter how it's prepared. Gino is a genius with fish.
