What is your favorite sandwich in Metro-Detroit? If you're a fan of the Monte Cristo at Scrambler Marie's you should definitely check out the offering they have at The Lodge in Keego Harbor. Also a solid sandwich. |

Palette Dining Studio at MGM and Assembly Line Buffet at Motor City Much obliged. Knowing little about either one, I was leaning towards MGM simply because I have had one experience with their Vegas buffet. Obviously this is Detroit, so I've lowered the bar a fair margin in my mind, but it's great to have a recommendation. Anyone able to comment on MotorCity? |

Palette Dining Studio at MGM and Assembly Line Buffet at Motor City Has anyone here dined at either one? I thought it might be interesting to give one of the casino buffets a shot in the near future, and these two seem to be the main players. I realize this is Detroit, and I am not expecting Vegas quality spreads or five star dining, but I would like to know if anyone here has some personal experiences they could share. Any thoughts or feedback on which is better, the types of food served at each, and so on would be very helpful. |

Detroit area: so why is Zazio's closing? My company has been here many times for business-driven cocktail parties. My take? Five star prices for lackluster cuisine, and the place is almost always abandoned (probably for the very reasons I just mentioned). Makes perfect sense to me. |

Recommendations for Greektown Eats? Good Gyros a Plus [Detroit, MI] Well, we were indecisive up until the last minute, but we were drawn in by the dive-like atmosphere of the Fleece. Pham, I have to hand it to you, those were indeed some fantastic gyros. Very tasty and huge portions for the price. We also ordered Saganaki, which was good (but that's hard to screw up), a Greek salad (standard fare), and some vegetarian grapeleaves (which were actually much better than I expected). I can definitely see us returning in the future. Thanks everyone! |

Recommendations for Greektown Eats? Good Gyros a Plus [Detroit, MI] Hey everyone. It has become something of a ritual for me to take my mother to Greektown for a birthday dinner, and in the past we have always gone to the Pegasus Taverna. I won't go into the details of why, but this year I have decided that we should not return to the Pegasus and should try somewhere different instead. Mom is a big fan of the Gyros sandwich, as am I, and we often end up defaulting to that in spite of the temptation of other menu offerings. We also have a tendency to get Saganaki as an appetizer. I know, I know, we are boring people. I promise I'm not usually this predictable with my dining, but this has been our tradition since I've been able to afford it. Does anyone have any solid recommendations for good Greek restaurants in the Greektown area? Obviously, insight into Gyros is a plus, but I'd love to hear any impressions of other dishes. Who knows? This may be the year that I switch it up. |
