Please critique our eating itinerary...
Thank you to everyone who responded!
I am so glad I posted, since my restaurant choices seem to be a bit outdated.
We are looking for a fantastic sushi restaurant, a great Italian place and are open to almost anything else.
I greatly appreciate your responses. :-)

I will be in San Francisco for the first time with my best friend in early November, and we have booked the following restaurants:
Farallon
Gary Danko
Boulevard
Mamacita's
Please let me know if we chose well, and if there are better places we should visit.
We love great food, and money is not an issue. (for this trip, anyway!) :-)
Thanks so much!

Where can I find the best sushi in San Francisco?
I am visiting San Francisco for the first time, and I would love to have some amazing sushi!
I am a NYC girl, and love Sushi Yasuda and Sushi of Gari.
I'd love some recommendations.
Thanks so much.
Which location of "The Palm" is best?
We are a group of 10 going out for a Birthday dinner.
I have only been to the 2nd Avenue location, but it was 10 years ago.
Is there one location that is superior to the others?
Thanks so much.
Please help me choose....Eleven Madison Park or Gilt for my Birthday?
I am also open to other places....so feel free to recommend.
I have heard great things about both restaurants.
Thanks in advance.
First time in Miami (South Beach) and would love some great cuban food! Any recs??
I will be at the Loews hotel in 3 weeks, and would love some ideas for really good cuban food....and really good restaurants in general. I prefer walking distance to the Loews....or up to a 10 minute cab ride. (Due to time constraints we can't venture too far from that area.)
Thanks in advance.
Can anyone recommend a dark, sexy restaurant?
I've been to Stanton Social...the only problem is, it's super loud....especially upstairs.
I was hoping for something even a little quieter.
Love the food there, though.
Can anyone recommend a dark, sexy restaurant?
I'm looking for a dark and sexy restaurant. Any type of food, except, Middle Eastern.
Food is less important than ambiance.
Thanks so much. :-)
Nobu or Megu? (and if Nobu, Tribeca or 57th?)
We don't need a scene, but don't mind one, either.
We want really good food...sushi, and perhaps some cooked.
We are also considering Yasuda, Sushi of Gari (though I've been to Gari over 25 times, and would like variety).
I'm open to suggestions. Thank you so much.
Nobu or Megu? (and if Nobu, Tribeca or 57th?)
Which restaurant is better? (quality of food)
If Nobu, is there any great difference between the Tribeca location
and the 57th street location?
Thanks so much.
Recs for truly rustic French food.....
I am looking for a good rustic French meal.
Ideally, anywhere below 72nd street. (East or West side)
Thanks in advance.
Need recs for a fantastic restaurant for boyfriend's Birthday this Saturday....
I'd prefer a place below 86th street anywhere (East or West side).
Ideally, no more than $200 for dinner....I am open to French, American, Steak
or Asian.
Need recs for a fantastic restaurant for boyfriend's Birthday this Saturday....
I know it's last minute, but I need to find a fabulous restaurant for this Saturday night for BF's Birthday dinner.
Almost any cuisine, except, Indian, and not Buddakan. (we went recently)
I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks so much!
Help - anyone know the name of this "Mystery" restaurant??
Thanks so much to you both!!
Help - anyone know the name of this "Mystery" restaurant??
There is a restaurant that has no name or sign....and from what I can tell, not even an address.
It is on East 7th street just off of 1st Avenue (on the South side of the street).
You go downstairs and there are about 10 or so tables.
I went when they were closed, so I could not go in and ask. :-)
I'd love to know the name of this restaurant.
Thanks in advance.
Any recommendations for a fun place for dinner and drinks for a Bachelorette party?
We are a group of 10-12 girls (mid 20's to late 30's) who are looking for a place with good food and great drinks for this coming Saturday.
We are considering Tao and Buddakan, but would LOVE some more suggestions.
Thanks so much. :-)
China 1 East Village
China 1 was quite possibly the worst dining experience I have ever had.
We had asked to be sat in a booth, and were told that the booths were only for parties of 3 or more. (which is fine). However, 10 minutes later, the hostess sat a party of 2 at the booth we had asked for. The restaurant was pretty empty that night, so we were very annoyed.
I could have overlooked this, were it not for the awful food and service.
It took forever just to get our appetizers, and they were out of several things on the menu.
All in all, the food was bland, the service was sub par and I would not go back if it were free.
We are looking for an incredible meal...any suggestions??
Been to The Modern, but will look into Robuchon.
Any other recommendations would be appreciated. :-)
Anyone know of Oven Bake Shop in Staten Island? *Question*
Oven Bake Shop had the BEST buttercream I have ever tasted.
Since they closed last year, I haven't been able to find anything that comes close.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a cake that has true buttercream frosting, like
Oven Bake's?
Hint: True buttercream is the opposite of what Magnolia, Buttercup Bake Shop and even
Sugar Sweet Sunshine serve.
Thanks!
We are looking for an incredible meal...any suggestions??
We are looking for a restaurant with excellent food, and the only requirement is that it cannot be sushi/Japanese.
We want something really delicious and it can be in any area of Manhattan.
Thanks so much!
We're thinking something on the order of Park Avenue Spring, Gotham, Cru...
But would love some fresh ideas.
Does anyone know the name of this Chinese restaurant in the Village?
Thank you, everyone. That is the place!
Does anyone know the name of this Chinese restaurant in the Village?
I don't think it was Sammy's....if it was, it had a longer name.
Thanks.
Does anyone know the name of this Chinese restaurant in the Village?
It's on 6th Avenue near 10th or 11th street on the West side of the street.
It appears to have dim lighting and looked kind of cool. (passed by it in a cab)
Thanks in advance.
Does anyone know the name of this Chinese restaurant? (In the Village)
Sorry for the double post
Help! Family is coming to visit tomorrow, and I need a restaurant that fits this description...
My family is coming to visit tomorrow, and my Mom, in particular, is very picky.
She has a weak stomach and cannot eat anything spicy or exotic.
We cannot do sushi, either, but I'm hoping for a recommendation on something that is, dare I say....even a little gimmick-y. (but still with reasonably good food)
They are rarely in the city, so I want something that will wow them, but still tastes good.
Also, nothing too crazy expensive.
Note: There will be two children, aged 9 and 13.
I so appreciate any suggestions!
Thanks in advance.
Desperately seeking, "Sage Road Chardonnay!"
Thank you SO much!! I will be making some calls on Tuesday.
Have a great weekend!
Desperately seeking, "Sage Road Chardonnay!"
I had Sage Road Chardonnay recently at Primehouse, and it was excellent.
I would love to buy a few bottles of this lovely wine, but I Googled it, and it doesn't seem to exist.
The restaurant has since changed their wine list, and they no longer have it.
I have checked several major stores in NYC, and none have it.
Does anyone know where to get it? I would be incredibly appreciative.
Thank you.
Mystery restaurant....does this place exist?
Thanks SO much for solving the mystery. Has anyone eaten here?
The boast about it being trendy is definitely off putting.
Mystery restaurant....does this place exist?
My friend told me about an incredibly good restaurant that she went to this past weekend.
She said it was near 10th avenue and 13th street and it was called, "Va Bella."
I cannot find anything with that name. (I also tried "La Bella.")
Does anyone know which one I mean?
Thanks in advance.
Desperately seeking "Ducato Entense" balsamic vinegar!
Does anyone know where I can buy this balsamic vinegar?
Thanks so much!!
