Whole Foods Market coming to Marlboro???
Their name of Med Restaurant is Le Vant. The location in Edison looks nice from the outside. I have not try since i usually go Chinese or Korean when I am in that area.
Where to watch soccer (Premier League football) on Sunday?
Make sure to call ahead to see if they are open at that time. Nothing worse than getting ready for a big match day and missing out... don't know how accurate this is but I found this list of soccer friendly pub in NJ:
http://www.livesoccertv.com/pubs/new-jersey/
personally, i am rooting for a miracle from QPR... but I know it is not likely.
Point me in the right direction please -- Edison NJ
There is a Banh Mi (Vietnamese Hoagie?) deli - not sure about the name on Old Post Rd.
Good for take out and chow down when you get home if you can resist finishing the thing while driving (not safe, but we have all done it, right/)
See thread below.

Chinese banquets in NJ?
I have been to multiple wedding banquets (including my own) in Sunny Palace. IMHO, they are the best in doing that in Central NJ.
I have also been to a few banquets (not weddings) in Crown Palace in Marlboro. CP ranges from average to truly awful.
Also went to one in North Jersey once a long time ago but I don't remember the name of the restaurant. It was average anyway.
I believe Royal in Avenel (formerly 1-9 seafood) and Wonder Seafood in Edison also do banquet. I would have confidence in those places churning out quality banquet dishes. However, I don't think they host a lot of banquets due to their locations and their size.
Luchentos in Millstone
Rarely do I see anything below a "Worth It". This is one of the few.
Sammy Chon's KTown Express- YUMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much for this recommendation.
The place is a little more than 10 minutes away from my work place and I tried a Koagie with bulgogi today. It's not the greatest sandwich ever but it was certainly quite good. The bulgogi with the spicy sesame sauce definitely go along with the bread. For under $10 I got a bottle of Mexi-coke, a koagie, and a side of fries.
Will definitely return to try their Tacos and burritos and wings.
IS there any Good Sushi?
Tried Ajihei last week. Great Sushi!! Pricey, yes; but definitely worth it.
Uni trays, Japanese market?
Was going to ask where do you find raw bulgogi at Hmart but you answered it.
Do you have to cut up the raw beef into smaller pieces or do you just eat them as is?
The one time I had Korean raw beef it was all shredded into small pieces and topped with a raw egg and mixed with some apple slices to give it a nice crunch.
Uni trays, Japanese market?
I second Mitsuwa.
You can find the some of the items you mention in HMart (preferably Edison location) but for sashimi or sashimi grade fish/seafood Mitsuwa is pretty much your only choice.
Hmart sells sashimi salmon, tuna, uni but they are no where the quality of Mitsuwa's.
Don't go to the Chinese markets - Hong Kong, Kam Man, Asian Food Center as their sashimi items are even lower quality.
Misa and Kombu can be found in Mitsuwa, Hmart or Chinese markets but Mitsuwa has way more variety. Not sure about pickles but if you are looking for Japanese style pickles Mitsuwa has a separate counter for them.
I know it is 1.5 to 2 hour drive for you but I think it is still worth it.
Whole Foods Market coming to Marlboro???
I don't believe we are getting a WF also.
Speaking of that Middle Eastern restaurant, everytime I see that sign, I can't help but think that banner is just a sneaky way for them to get free advertising for their Edison location.
Panera Bread coming to Manalapan
I like Panera but good luck finding a parking spot once it is open.
Any good Chinese restaurant's near Edison NJ
Is there any progress with the China Bowl location?
Every time i drive by, it is still boarded up.

I only been to Noodlelicious once but really want to return. It was really good. Definitely worth making it a destination. Mind you, it is a small place that meant for you to grab a bowl of noodle and maybe some appetizer and leave. So if you want to sit down and spend some time with a friend over food, this is not the place. Not that they will kick you out, but you can the idea.

So true. I cannot agree with people that thinks NYC Chinatown has "far" superior Chinese food than anything in NJ. Are the stuff in NYC better in general? Yes. But if you live in central NJ, it is just not worth the time and money to go over to Chinatown when there are plenty of good options in NJ (esp. in Edison).
Flushing actually has better offerings than Manhattan Chinatown if you are going to travel.
If you really want great Chinese food in North America, go to Scarborough or Markham, Ontario, Canada.

Wonder Seafood is probably the best Cantonese joint is Edison.
I am not too crazy about Grand Shanghai. I rather go to Shanghai Bun (Edison) next to Keum Ho Jung or Noodlelicious (tiny Strip Mall next to Hmart).
Moe's Southwest Grill coming to Marlboro
I try this place once in an outlet mall in Virginia. It's not great food by any mean but I do remember it was really cheap.
The best way to describe this place is somewhere between Taco Bell and Chipotle.
Asking for updated info on Korean (with BBQ) in Ocean/Monmouth Counties / Vietnamese also
I never notice Chung Sol Bat before. Is it the one right next to Keum Ho Jung? What kind of food does it offer? Is it pretty much the same as KHJ? thanks.

Went to Kimchi & Sushi for lunch last Saturday. It wasn't the greatest Korean good but it is passable and it is the only Korean place in the area.
The lunch specials offered M-Sat is pretty good deal. We ordered one Chicken Teriyaki lunch box for our kids, a seafood tofu pot, and a Bibim Bap. The bill with tip is around $35 we were stuffed.
I recommend this place if you are in this area and crave some korean food.
Asian Food Market coming soon in Marlboro
If you are looking for high quality meat and seafood I would have to agree Asian market in general isn't the place to look. I buy in Asian market for their low price and for specific things that are not carried in American supermarkets.
if i want good quality seafood and meat, I would go to Whole Foods & Wegman.
For seafood, i usually go for live fish, crabs, etc.
For meat, i would look for pork neck bones, beef briskets, etc.
Same goes for produces.

I think it is a better bet to go on weekend or earlier in the day. I went on Sunday morning around 11 am and the steam table and the rotisserie were both well stocked. I ordered a their $5.25 lunch special with mixed seafood & kung pao chicken and they were decent.
The previous week I bought ground pork and beef short rib from the meat department and they were both good and cheap.
I think it is typical of these Asian market that there are time in the week where you will found produce, meat, seafood departments lacking. It is the same way in Hong Kong Supermarket in E. Brunswick. These Asian markets don't get the same traffic as a Wegman so it will be hard for them to keep everything constantly fresh and well stocked.
Foie Gras in Old Bridge!?! New "JUST Restaurant" opens on Route 9
That is the same though I have. if it wasn't for this board no one would have any idea that there is a restaurant at that location.
Joe's Crab Shack ~ Eatontown
I haven't returned to Crab House for a while. It's not because I have a bad experience but simply because I no longer visit that area as much as before since my wife no longer work around that area.
From memory I would say they are on par with Legal and M&S.
The main thing I remember is the Crab House has an all you can eat salad bar with a very good selection such as crab & shrimp & mussel, etc.
Asian Food Market coming soon in Marlboro
i got the roast pork (the one with the golden crispy skin) yesterday right after the guy took it out of the oven; i was in heaven after a bite.
Joe's Crab Shack ~ Eatontown
The Crab House is much more upscale than Joe's.
If we are comparing chain steakhouses:
The Crab House = Ruth Chris
Joe's Crab Shack = Outback.
Joe's Crab Shack ~ Eatontown
The Lawrenceville location I tried certainly wasn't awful. I definitely prefer Joe's over Red Lobsters. I definitely enjoy that they sold T-Shirts that says "Got Crabs?".
Joe's Crab Shack ~ Eatontown
agree. went there once. Not terrible, just a typical chain restaurant meal.
Cafe Spezia in Manalapan
This place must be good, I just read a raving review in the "Shop-a-holic" magazine... :-)
any good Chinese restaurants near Freehold?
Noodlelicious is in Edison, in the small strip mall of Rt27 on the other side of Plainfield Ave. from the new Hmart.
Do you have Dim Sum at West Lake or dinner? Dim Sum is usually solid in West Lake. I had dinner a few times; nothing amazing. Definitely better than Crown Palace, Marlboro but not as good as Wonder Seafood in Edison.
Best Chinese in Hightstown/East Windsor area?
By comparing to PF Chang, I was trying to say don't expect Authentic Chinese like what you get in West Lake or Shanghai Bun or Wonder Seafood in Edison.
Best Chinese in Hightstown/East Windsor area?
I might be wrong but I always have the impression that Peking Pavilion is more or less like a PF Chang. It must be doing something right though. The parking lot is always went I drive by there.
