well salted pasta, a blanched star green vegetable, drizzled in hot olive oil with lightly fried garlic& a dash of red pepper, and copious amounts of recently shaved parmesan. and chocolate almond croissants.
My most tattered cookbooks:
well, it's more like a dirty ipad with a cracked screen, but anything by mark bittman, tamar adler, deb perelman, food52, is great. i regularly stalk saveur, cooks illustrated, and the NYT dining sections for new ideas. also i love to watch old episodes of julia child, especially her "master series." she doesn't like alice waters so much, especially not the way she fusses over garlic.
