NYE in Madrid - Help with recs and timing Have checked previous posts and can't find what i'm looking for. Will be in Madrid NYE and am trying to determine if I do a nice dinner that night (knowing that if that's the case, that is most likely where we will ring in the new year with the timing) OR just have a late lunch someplace and quick late bite on the run later as we go bar/party hopping. does anyone have any thoughts on this? and what would be some restaurant recommendations (granted it's a little last minute)... would be looking for something really special - like anything from proper michelin sit down a la Arzak to hip and funky a la Sketch in London - just 2 of us |

good eats around woodley park/adams morgan/cleveland metro adding a couple more to those already posted. Napoleon - new(ish) restaurant on Columbia in Adams Morgan - same owner as restaurant Bonaparte in Georgetown. Parisian style - pretty extensive menu including a good selection of both sweet and savory crepes. and of course frites. also have good champagne cocktails. on the weekends they have a lounge downstairs with a dj. Another choice would be Rumba Cafe on 18th street for Latin tapas - it's a fairly small space - very authentic food. |

Afternoon Tea ~ does anyone serve fresh from the oven scones and use real clotted cream? Tea & Sympathy in the Village is very authentic - cozy and quaint. there's a British store associated with it next door. http://www.teaandsympathynewyork.com/... |

Heading to NYC this weekend with an Aussie mate. Would love to surprise him with a trip to someplace either owned by Aussies or Australian themed. Anyone know of a place? |
