Kitchenaid Food Grinder attachment does not seem to fit my machine

Which model KA mixer did you purchase, John E? Hoping the Artisan will work great with the vintage type meat grinders or the new type more plastic without burning up the motor on it.

Meat Grinder Recs?

You did not mention what brands you bought for 100 dollars, Porker that did not work out. I have a KA but think I want to step up to a standalone meat grinder electric without a lot of expense. Need ideas.

Kitchen Aid Meat Grinder -- Gray Ooze

Where did you buy this meat grinder? I have the regular meat grinder plastic that you buy now for the Artisan mixer. I have been thinking of buying a vintage one that is all metal but then I saw yours Drama Queen. I wondered where I could purchase one.

Indian Spice Grinder

Finally bought a new Oliver Hemming Spice Boy walnut made that I was able to get cheap on Ebay before they were all sold. About $20 with S/H. Anyhow this one seems to be okey for what I need it for, reasonable enough and good internal parts. I use the M&P also mostly. I decided against the Krups since I have a Kitchenaid grinder for coffee although I would not use the Krups for coffee beans considering a lot of cons. I also read many reviews and took into consideration what a few of you suggested was the best way to go.

Need help on buying oven thermometer and candy thermometer

Going to try Cooper-Atkins oven thermometer. Seems it was higher rated than the CDN or Marerick possibly. Read this somewhere. Temp numbers are a little small but thermometer is suppose to be very dependable and is stainless steel. Found one Wasserstrom. Price for it was great but their shipping I felt was a little ridiculous since it just arrived in a manila envelope. The thermometer is not available in a lot of stores which eliminates finding a real cheap total price cost.

Digital oven thermometer, but just for temp, not food

Looked the Maverick Digital ot-03 one up on Amazon and it is not worth buying. Need more recommendations on a large number oven thermometer that can be relied on.

PEPPER GRINDERS

Little late in inquiring but has anyone used the Oliver Hemming Spice Boy for spices only and what was the result. I see where pepper and salt seems to be the choice of using it for in this thread. Little concerned about ordering from Dream Icons. Love to hear from someone at the exact ordering method from out of the U.S. so I will not make any mistakes.

coffee grinders

You use this specifically for coffee? Probably as they are expensive I think.

coffee grinders

I heard that, Cookworks, concerning Burr.. I have the big Kitchen Aid coffee bean grinder I think but it is for coffee only naturally. All my cinnamon and seeds would just be nearly lost grinding in one that large and some wasted for certain so that is the reason looking at the little blade one they are all talking about for spices etc when I do not use M&P. I also saw a manual one that is recommended but in the forties and not necessary to spend that much. Kyrocea or something like that. Thanks for the information however. I am still reading daily all of everyones comments.

Indian Spice Grinder

Reviews mentioned breakage. I have not tried any to recommend. I see which one you recommend now. Thanks much. I have a coupon too. Will go to BB&B.

Indian Spice Grinder

The Amazon krups 203-42 is good or not good? Was not for sure if you meant the Amazon specific one have troubles with. If so, I will check with the Bed Bath here for one like you suggested.

Indian Spice Grinder

That is a great help to me. Just needed the brand. Thanks.

Indian Spice Grinder

What brand is the coffee grinder you found for 10. I have looked at Braun, Krups etc but keep finding plastic breaks and all those reviews that makes me think I need someone to tell me the one they have that seems to just keep going for a few bucks. Thanks. Also saw a Kyocera manual grinder which is a little more expensive and I am not for certain if others may recommend it for spices such as cinnamon etc.

coffee grinders

To be honest, I am more interested in one for cinnamon, cloves etc. I have used my P&M but I still think I would like a small burr or blade grinder for spices when I have a lot to grind.

coffee grinders

Has anyone ever used an LeEquip Coffee grinder for spices, coffee beans, etc? If so, what do you think about it for all types of spices? I think it used to be called a Braun Coffee Mill.

Indian Spice Grinder

Good to hear someone else using the M&P. I had hunted for a hand grinder and never been satisfied with my finds. Heard from Paulj or someone and they said cheaper to just use the P&M. So that ended looking at the coffee grinders for a spice grinder.

Indian Spice Grinder

Has anyone tried to order the Sumeet Mixie lately? This seems to be the best buy although I can not understand $35 for shipping. However, may have to pay that much possibly. I have searched for an excellent spice grinder to fill in the the M&P when I want fast grinding and seems this is the most recommended.

Do flavors really stay in burr grinders even after beng washed?

I probably would save some money, paulj. I actually have one right on my counter but it seems when I use it everything tries to stick to the bottom of it and have to peel it out. I may just go in there and check this out. Thanks a million.

Do flavors really stay in burr grinders even after beng washed?

Do you have the model number on the cuisinart blade grinder?
. One I read not good reviews on.

Do flavors really stay in burr grinders even after beng washed?

Need to know what type of spice grinder do you use. I have cloves and have not found anything with good reviews for those type of spices. Krups coffee bean grinder approx $20 has terrible reviews. I do not mind even using a manual type burr spice grinder if I can find one that can be relied on. Please need some good ideas. Already buying a Microplane rounded one for nutmeg.

Is a 12-inch saute pan too big?

Wish I had found this thread series before I started requesting replies for deciding between a AC saute 6 quart pan and an AC saute 6 quart pot. The money I saved is a lot, the size of my induction burners, my electric burners, hot plate are all under 11 inches. The (pot) one is just perfect to fit on them. The saute 6 quart (pan) type will over extend and have read where you must move the contents away from the side often and heat only usually is intensified where burner touches regardless of the triply AC. Then I read Amazon and it said they have Limited Lifetime Warranty. Searched all over places and found Lifetime Warranty specifically stated two other companies sellling the AC 5206 one.. Decided to write to AllClad Inc. Answer this morning from them is they will replace of course if anything occurs without abuse of the item. So, I think saving $130 plus reading the above makes me feel like I did not make a mistake. Long handle does not bother me and helper handle is a plus. It fits into my regular oven without any problem. I like I can push it once on edge of rack with the long handle to the middle part of the oven depth when oven very hot where with two short handles this is a little more difficult to do. Thanks for the suggestion,Ppguidry in March about the burner size plate helper at Amazon. I have the 4 for my electric stove and it certainly saves a lot of cleanup of insides of burners also but they do not help that much if you have a 13 inch pan which overextends to the outer chrome ring I have found. Best to stay 12 inches and under if possible it seems.

One Pan to Rule Them All

Found a AC 5206 I believe saute pot 6 quart very cheap. I have found the 3 quart saute pan I have too shallow several times. I looked at 4 qt and it is about one inch deeper or so. The 6 quart regular saute pan is very expensive. Also I checked the induction burner width and noticed one thread elsewhere where sometimes AC saute 6 quart 13 inches width cookware food needs moving around in bottom of pan more than the 10 plus inches naturally. Wondering if anyone else has this 6 quart All Clad saute cookware pot. Also fits into oven perfectly for oven use even with handle. The reviews on Amazon all are high. Saved about $130 over regular 6 quart saute or a 6 quart dutch oven/stock pot saved much not buying it also. Helper handle a plus for removing from oven and long handle great for moving pan when needed.

One Pan to Rule Them All

Could not pull up your pan at Katom. Please give us the name. Thanks.

All Clad Lasagna Pans Warp?

Thanks so much for your note concerning the warping. I almost bought the largest roaster made by All Clad yesterday and thanks to hollybaker (lasagna pan note), I read the box that came with the roaster. Sure enough it is not as thick from bottom to top edge (tri-ply) as regular All Clad and gravy making on a burner not safe without warping I read today for that pan elsewhere too. It was a shame as the roaster is now only $159 (regular $199 and I could have even bought it for less!!!. I will stick to the Calphalon CI recommended which was just a shelf over in the same store which I know for a fact will tolerate gravy making on a burner since I have it. The All Clad is beautiful but not worth it to me if can not make pan gravy on a burner. The rack was top quality too. Weighs a lot so maybe weight would have been a factor to make that way and costly also.

Need Inexpensive Electric Single Burner Hotplate/Need Recommendations

Thanks million for information. I saw one of those. Yes they are about 99 at Chefs. I have not seen any cheaper I believe for them. Where did you see one $50?

Need Inexpensive Electric Single Burner Hotplate/Need Recommendations

Still would like an electric because we may use it inside also. This may be for few uses and the electric is best for the situation we need. We have the butane two burner for hurricane use if we ever need it too. I sure hope we never do but we had it ready when Charlie went through in 2004. We had two almost back to back ones running all over Fl it seemed within weeks of each other if I remember right. All that saved us is new location with all lines underground. Several neighborhoods were without electricity for almost a week. Thanks for the ideas however all of you. Still need name of an inexpensive one burner electric plate.

All Clad Lasagna Pans Warp?

Much better price, Jay F!! Thanks for the information.

Need Inexpensive Electric Single Burner Hotplate/Need Recommendations

Looking for recommendations on single burner electric hot plate! Does not have to be a 1500 watt as prefer little less so less problems. Have looked at a couple online $20 plus range but rather just buy in store so if not satisfactory then just return locally. This will be used for a picnic table camping use. Therefore if you have one that works great, let me know brand and model number. Thanks.

All Clad Lasagna Pans Warp?

Whew, Jay F, you have chosen a top of the line lasagne pan to show us. I checked the price of the LC and thought this is a lifetime use lasagne pan. Thanks a million for bringing it to our attention. I just bet there are many people that have chosen this one to purchase too.

All Clad Lasagna Pans Warp?

Thanks for the reply, Hobbybaker. I will just keep my fingers crossed the pan will not warp. I guess lasagna is the only safe item that the pan can be used for as complete coverage of contents and no bare space left uncovered. Seems not so good but I have it so time will tell.
