New thread for discontinued products
Rosarita tacos, frozen, six in a tray, you thawed them out and fried them in about 1/4 " of shortening, stuffed them with whatever else you wanted.
I know it's not a food but Agree shampoo, back in the day if I would dance with a gal that had used it, I would find it very hard to control myself. I used it too.
Mint coming out my ears!!!!
Yep, I put Tri-Ox vegetation killer on the huge mess of it I have, do it in the spring, kills it off until next spring, back up it is again and even more of it.
Making a strawberry-rhubabrb pie....do you peel rhubarb?
After baking rhubarb pies for over 20 years, I found the best recipe a couple of years ago:
Rhubarb
3/4 C. sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 (regular size box) strawberry jello
Stir the dry stuff together in a large mixing bowl, throw in the rhubarb an stir well, put it in your crust and bake. best ever!
I call it a graduation garden party, kids call it a kegger...
Any pork products from Wheatland?
Catfish?
Swai are also called a Vietnamese river catfish, they are mushy and flavorless to me, they breed like rats. I hope to God nobody releases them into north American waters. I worked on the Arkansas River for a couple of years back in the mid '70's and ate a ton of Catfish, bass and bream out of the river and surrounding waters, loved it.
A Swai:

Catfish?
The flood of Tilapia (which I like very much) and now Swai (which I don't like) certainly must have put a dent in catfish sales, I understand they all can be farmed in the same way.
Fair & carnival food
The thing I like the most at our fair are called "Vikings", batter fried swedish meatballs on a stick. Some Gooood!
Which Two Cuisines for the Rest of your Life?
British and Scandinavian............yeah, right.
Best Chain Breakfast?
Not to mention their steamed red potatoes tossed in griddle fry as an excuse for a breakfast starch. No mas, once was enough! Plus the service is way too syrupy at Mimi's, "I'll take my eggs O/E", "Oh a perfect choice this morning, you really know how to build a good breakfast" She said that at every table on the floor.
What foods did you once love but now can’t eat?
Exactly the same thing with me, terrible acid stomach and burning belches, can't understand it. Green chiles, chilis of all kinds, no problem.
Quinoa..now feel ill..
I've wanted to try quinoa but haven't mainly because of cost, after all the carrying on here I don't think I'll bother.
Dip Challenge
As lousy as it might sound, a 2lb block of velveeta and a couple of cans of hormel no bean chili in a crock pot with plenty of tortilla chips is usually the one finished up first at these kind of affairs. A quality salsa like El Pinto goes right along with it.
Foods you dread making because they’re time-consuming
When our kids were still kids, I would get everything together and we would all sit at the kitchen table and roll up and freeze about 20 dozen lumpia. Days gone by.......
Jarred pickles - what's best?
This company's products are very good, they're kosher dill relish is phenominal! You can find them in most "health food" and organic/natural markets and some supermarkets.

I'd also like to add that TJ's carried some of the best half sours I'd ever ate, they discontinued them about 4 years ago. I was pissed about that for a long time.
Currywurst Sauce: Should Ketchup, Tomato Sauce or Tomatoes Be the Base?
If you know anyone who is retired military or active duty, you can ask them to pick you up a bottle at a base commissary (although it's against the rules, no one will know any way) it will be about $3. They carry it for GI's and their spouses who are from there who miss the tastes of home, they usually carry alot of ethnic stuff.
Is there...... [microwave safe colander question]
About a quart size microwave safe colander available?

Did you ever work at a fast food restaurant? [moved from Food Media and News]
Steve Forbes said he'd rather hire a person who had managed a fast food joint for 5+ years than someone with a wall full of degrees.
Extra "greased" flour from pan on bundt cake
I know what you are saying, don't be so hard on yourself. Sounds like you did just fine!
Cold Food
Ice cold leftover fast food frenchfries that have been in the fridge at least 2 days. mmm mmm!
Mexican Easter Ideas
A chili relleno casserole goes great with an Easter ham (and alot of other things!)

Freezer purge
Right on the money TSAW! I've got a bunch of those bags of different colors/patterns and that's the way I'm going today! Love the "wandering around aimlessly" analogy.
Is it just my perception?
"The closer the bone, the sweeter the meat" unatributed age old saying.
Microwave Egg Poacher
I have one of those and it works great, 1tsp water in each side with the egg and microwave for about 1 minute depending on you ovens wattage.
