So I am all ready after hearing your feedback to make a reservation at Brighten only to learn that they aren't open on Mondays which is the day of my anniversary.

Then I was a bit drawn to Arnauds but kept think if over. Now I'm leaning to moving reservations around and cancelling Besh Steak and that night going to Brighten and then for the special night going to August.

Tell me your thoughts.
I also am curious - do you all like August or Lukes better.

This sounds silly but we are staying in the quarter and not planning to rent a car - is it easy to get to?

Thanks - this is helpful. I picked Besh's steak as I have been to Lukes in San Antonio and enjoyed, but once I looked at the menu in NOLA (for Lukes and Augusts), Im too picky and happy to do Besh's steak so I can get to one of his places.

I went to NOLAs the first time visiting and loved it so I wanted to take my wife there. Besides the food, I loved the feel of the place.

As for GW Fin - I've only heard good things and friends just returned raving about it.

I agree that Broussard should be replaced and I am having trouble with the right choice as it is for the anniversary - just having looked at some of the menus I just havent been drawn to any of them - Not drawn to Sylvan or R'evolution. I will look into Herbsaint - we are from NYC and have been from holes in wall to five star - both extremes and all in-between have something to offer. I dont need white tie and tales for the important meal, but something romantic, some good food, were we can talk, feel comfortable and make a memory is what I seek.

Thanks - this is useful feedback - perhaps I will look into an alternative place to celebrate. I've looked at R'evolution and Stella and they aren't exactly what I'm looking for - I will look at the others - leaning toward Antoine -

What do you think about Arnaulds or Brennands

would have been nice to know why your not feeling it. I can add that collardman above got me - the "best" has many definitions. I'm trying to get us a taste of the NOLA experience. I don't have to go to all the five star joins. I figured I have steak and seafood covered. I have cajun and creole options. I have tourist spots and well know joints. I have some traditional places included - what I don't have solely are pretentious places that have menus I may not be into. I do appreciate your feedback but was hoping for useful response that could give insight to something overlooked or something I've added that should clearly be avoided. You provided neither. I guess I'm not feeling your reply

30th Anniversary Dinner

Thanks for the help
While I'm here - do any of you know about Luke's or GW Fin?

When I was in town years ago I went to Petunia's but understand it closed, is there any place like it that exists now?

30th Anniversary Dinner

I've heard Commander's is best for brunch/lunch. The hotel mentioned a place named Feelings and another named Cafe Degas. Any knowledge of either of these?

30th Anniversary Dinner

Just booked a NOLA trip to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. Of course we are looking for a place to dine for the actual anniversary dinner. I am looking for a romantic spot, with good food. We aren't drinkers so wine lists arent important.

Italian in the city

Daughter likes traditional Italian, both northern and southern - she has been to Italy. Likes marsala, pasta, etc. Not too adventurous (that;s me) Her B'day is Jan - no need to dress up, but more than jeans, Probably leaning more toward modern/sleek, but open to homey as well. Not opulent.

Like Becco, Carmine's was ok and as a family we like Tony DiNapoli, Been to a few in Little Italy but open to any you can suggest.

Im the picky one, not too into vegetables. Like pasta, like veal, chicken,

It is her 21st so drinks would be included as she is "legal" and Im willing to splurge as we had done Peter Luger when we did this for my son (he loves steak). - I guess I'd like to keep the total bill for the four of us under 400.

Italian in the city

I know there are 100s of Italian restaurants in Manhattan. I have had the good fortunate to have tried some. For my daughter's upcoming 21st birthday she asked if we could go to an upscale / well received Italian restaurant.

Any suggestions are appreciated. Open to any part of the City.

Birthday Dinner in Theatre District

Taking in a show for wife's birthday and want to have a nice dinner with her in the Theatre District. Only two cuisines we arent into are Indian and Mexican. Dont want anything too over the top - dont want a pizza place either. We like Asian, Italian, Greek, Seafood and American (including Steak)

We have been to Becco which was nice but want to try someplace else. And it doesnt have to be on restaurant row. We arent drinkers so that isnt a concern. I just want to find a place with good food, a place we can talk and somewhere that wont cost me more than the tickets did.

Any suggestions are apprecaited.

Soccer Stadium food

This may be an unconventional question but here goes. During an upcoming trip to London we have plans to attend a Chelsea soccer match. Since we have never been there, does anyone know if there are food concessions at the Stadium? I am used to baseball stadiums in the US and what they typically have to offer. Is it similar at soccer stadiums? If so, what types are food are offered?

Thanks

BIstro on Latin Qtr

Want to stay in Latin Qtr (walking from Hotel), as for other areas, will be near E. Tower, major site locations, Lourve, Arc, Notre Dame

As for type of bistro no idea as I dont know much about them - would like to sit out, people watch, eat some food, noting too pricey - to get a nice dinner or late lunch - open to local cuisine.

Dinner near Dominion Theatre

Going to see We Will Rock You at the Dominion Theatre - can anyone recommend a place to have dinner before or after the show - nothing to upscale - nothing too ethnic. Definately no Mexican or Indian

Best place of fish and chips

Appreciate all the replies. I know nothing specific about the pub scene vs other options. I just know I like f&c and wanted to get a good batch. If a pub isnt the place, fine and as for the pints - that was a side remark.

Best place of fish and chips

Heading to London for a week in early April. Want to make sure I have authentic fish and chips while there. Staying near Kings Cross but will be touring all over London proper.

Can someone direct me to the best place to grab fish and chips and maybe a pint on the side?
