It is still called caoti, and the menu has barely changed (though it is still pretty good.) It is on Tujunga near Aroma cafe.

God, that was a beautiful place and I had completely forgotten about it. It is a great space so how wonderful that someone is taking it on.

I love gin martinis at musso and franks. And the way Churchill had his. (He nodded gravely to the vermouth when he made them)

Los Angeles Lunch & Brunch Blues

AOC has a full bar and a mostly brunchy menu. But I can happily survive on their charcuterie plate with a drink. Ditto their plate lunches. Rays at Lacma have full bar and a wonderful weekend menu also.

Help with gift basket for an Anglophile!

I would include lots of tea biscuits like hob nobs (yum) or jaffa cakes? And perhaps some English candy like licorice all-sorts? You can also be brave and get things like marmite and heinz baked beans. ( Two favorite things of my Irish husband!)

Marrakech, Morocco

We went on our honeymoon there last summer and had an extraordinary trip. Please don't worry about safety at all. (Except maybe being pick pocketed) Some of the best food I have eaten in my life. I will try and make a list for you when I have time. But I do highly recommend you stay in a small riad versus a Western hotel. Any riad will have a cook who will make you a home cooked dinner that is out of this world. I took 4 guidebooks for the two weeks we were there, and the ones with the best food/drink reccs were the Time out -Marrakech, and the cadogan Morocco.

Pub lunches a nice drive from Dublin?

Thank you so much, and I never should have said pub. We are quite happy with a lovely restaurant. The roundwood inn looks really great and exactly the kind of thing we are looking for!

Thanks so much, I do know Cavistons and Dalkey really well. It is beautiful. I was thinking just a little further afield.

Pub lunches a nice drive from Dublin?

My husband and I are going to be in Dublin for the holidays and I am looking for some places we could take his father for a nice drive outside the city for a great lunch. In the past we have been to the Anglers Rest in the Strawberry Beds and had lovely meals. We eat everything, but I would especially love some sea side places with good seafood. Can't wait to get to Dublin and eat at the winding stair! (One of my all time favorite restaurants)
Thanks so much.

Any Reccy's for Palm Springs thanksgiving week?

All the threads on Palm springs are a few years old and I wanted to know if there were any new places and how the old ones were faring. Also, would love any ideas for thanksgiving dinner without breaking the bank. Thanks so much!

venue for wedding party 125-150 people

We recently got married in Europe, but wanted to have a party here in the Los Angeles area to celebrate our wedding. We had been hoping to have it a brunch party at the M Cafe at Calamigos, but we have more then 100 people and they can't accommodate. Any ideas of places or edible caterers would be SO helpful. We are foodies who don't want the usual wedding food nor wedding venue.
thanks so much for the help. We are interested in brunch, cocktails, and perhaps dinner. We would LOVE an outdoor venue.
