Mayday Mayday : Angela's Banh Mi is no more !

I don't know whether it's a tea room, I didnt go in. But on the menu outside there were bahn mi's, a few rice and meat dishes and some bubble teas. There was probably some other things on there that I didn't notice.

Yeah, the address is correct! It's quite inconspicuous. But there are a few posters about the food on the window.

What French groceries to buy on a budget

I agree, I eat a lot of both. I'm a bit worried about bpa though, but maybe I'm being paranoid.

aaah, I really like the idea of trying these special things once. That makes it a lot less overwhemling. Thanks! I live at Republique, close to the 3rd, 10th and 11th.

Good Halal Butchers in Paris

hmm, interesting, Ive never heard this before. Steak is not considered halal by some? Why not? (I'm not Muslim myself, I just need to know where to buy meat when cooking for friends)

What French groceries to buy on a budget

Thanks for your messages! I will check out some more markets.

I would also like to know what is worth spending extra money for (because it's just so good in France) and what isn't. So, which cheeses are worth going to the fromagerie for and which ones are almost just as good at the supermarket. Whether I should go and buy one of those expensive chickens. Whether I can get my paté at the supermarket or whether I should go to a specific charcuterie? Whether it's worth getting traditional French butter at the Fromagerie. I'm sure it's very much up to personal preferences, but I would love to hear people's ideas! Maybe some Maghrebian grociery products that I should take advantage of buying/cooking whilst I'm in France? I really want to immerse myself in cooking and enjoying the great food that is available here.

I live by Republique btw. So close to the 3rd, 10th and 11th.

What French groceries to buy on a budget

I live in Paris and get my vegetables from a coop. I have a budget of around 60-70 euros a week to spend on the rest of my groceries. I really want to take advange of living in France and make the most of the eating/cooking opportunities here...... especially things that are difficult to get in other places. I like cooking. I also like trying food from around the world.

What shops should I go to? And what should I buy at these shops?

I have read many threads on this board and taken some tips. But I am looking for advice on specifically what to buy for day-to-day living, on a budget, whilst still really enjoying what France has to offer.

Thanks everyone!!

What dish to order at what place in Belleville (Asian Food)

I went there before, I thought the dumplings were a little bit too greasy. But it was really good value.

they look to me like meat and fish dishes that you would also order in the evening, with rice.

What dish to order at what place in Belleville (Asian Food)

When I go for dim sum, I often see Chinese families ordering warm dishes to go with dim sum. I never felt brave enough to really have look to see what exactly they were ordering. Are there typical things that people order to go along with dim sum, do you know?

What dish to order at what place in Belleville (Asian Food)

I recently moved to Bellevile, Paris and want to take the opportunity to learn more about Asian and especially Chinese food. I have read the Asian food in Paris threads... but I am still at a loss as to what to order where.

I have tried pho, bo bun, thai green and red curries and chinese dumplings and dim sum. I really want to branch out.. But the quality in Belleville seems so hit and miss that I would like to ask for specific reccomendations about what to order at which restaurant.

Thankyou!!

The one tip that I can provide is Le Pacifique on Rue de Belleville for good dim sum (without carts though)
