Prepared lobster???

Planning on making a lobster mac and cheese, but I need to buy prepared lobster meat for it. Does anyone know a good market i can go to in the downtown NYC area? I don't mind paying for good quality.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Pancake Mix directions

HELP! We have a maple/buttermilk pancake mix in our pantry, but my boyfriend threw out the directions. I just need to know what to add to it. Is it just eggs and milk? Or water?

Help please!

Mezzaluna Knife

I'm ashamed to admit I never heard of these knives until yesterday! Can anyone tell me their experience with them? Pros? Cons?

I use herbs often in cooking and think this would make an excellent addition to my kitchen!

Beef Sliders

Hi Guys!

Thank you so much for your delicious suggestions!! I ended up making them with 3 cloves of garlic, a small onion (minced), a very generous amount of worcestershire sauce, smoked chill and garlic sea salt, and pepper.

They came out delicious!! I made them in the cast iron skillet and when they were cooking on each side, i put a glass lid over them so the steam would help cook them. They came out moist, juicy and flavorful!!

I topped a few with horseradish cheddar and some with smoked gouda. It was better than any restaurant could have made!!

Beef Sliders

I'm making some for dinner tonight. What seasonings does everyone prefer to use? I usually onion and garlic.

Also, how do you cook yours? I have a cast iron skillet so I was thinking of using that or a George Foreman grill. I make these probably once a year so I don't have tons of experience with them.

Any input would be great!

Cheese swap help!!!

Hey All!

I'm hosting a large thanksgiving dinner and two of the sides will be a cauliflower gratin and a spinach cheese puff casserole. Both recipes call for Gruyere but I would prefer to use different cheeses for variety. Would Gouda be a good substitute in the spinach puff?

Any tips would greatly appreciated!!!

Thanks!

One More....dried mushroom mix!

I'm trying to eat all the food in my cupboard as we have ALOT! and lately we have been spending a fortune on groceries every week. We live in NYC so every penny we can save counts.
I'm trying not to buy too much until we have eaten what we already have sitting around.

One More....dried mushroom mix!

I have one more question I would like to ask my fellow chowhounders....................

I am trying to eat all the food in my cupboards to make room for fresh supplies. I have a box of portabella condensed mushroom soup from Trader Joe's, along with a bag of their dried wild mushroom mix.

Can anyone give me a good idea or recipe for using these items? The box of condensed soup is pretty small, and I am trying to eat what i already have in my kitchen to save money and not waste food.

Any advice would be great!

Thank you.

Dried Bean Mix

Hello All

I have a large jar of dried beans, all varieties. I just want to know how can I use them? Silly question I know, but I know that different beans have different soaking/cooking times.

I would hate to let them sit in my cupboard and collect dust. Has any thrown random bean mixes in chilli or soups without a mushy mess or rock hard beans as the final result?

Any info would be wonderful!

Thank you!!

awesome thank you for the tip!! I did get bar keeper's friend but after trying it on other kitchen items and reading the label, I am reluctant to use it on my LC as it seems very harsh

Favorite apples for baking pie?

I made an apple pie with the usual Granny Smith's that I have always used but I think they taste too sour. What apples do you prefer to use in an apple pie?
