Recs in Ronda and surrounding areas?
Thanks so much for your response, AlixZ. Really appreciate it. Sounds like we will have some great options:)
Recs in Ronda and surrounding areas?
We will be in Ronda next week. Just wondering if anyone has some great recs for restaurants in this area? My husband and I will be having a couple much needed nights out sans kiddos and would love to go somewhere special (not necessarily expensive), just wonderful ambience and food. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
Also, we are looking for recommendations for great lunch spots that are kid friendly in the area.
Thanks much!
Recs in Pasadena for a birthday dinner?
Heading to Pasadena and am wondering if anyone has some good recs for a special place to celebrate my birthday? I am not necessarily looking for the fanciest, most expensive restaurant, but a place that we will remember! I'd say we're looking to spend around $100 or less if possible. Love all kinds of ethnic foods and prefer more vegetarian options. Am considering Babita, but feel like I've seen mixed reviews on this board. Any thoughts or recs? Thanks in advance!!
Seeking good eats in Alexandria Old Town for girls' weekend!
We ended up going to The Majestic one night, and Vermillion the next. Both were absolutely amazing and great places to relax and talk. The food was outstanding - - just what we were looking for. At Majestic, we enjoyed the mussels, crab cakes, fried green tomato -- just to name a few. At Vermillion, the salads were equisite as were the entrees. Thanks to everyone who posted on this thread!
Seeking good eats in Alexandria Old Town for girls' weekend!
Thanks so much for all of your input! ! I am leaning towards Vermillion or Majestic, and love all the brunch/lunch recommendations.
Seeking good eats in Alexandria Old Town for girls' weekend!
4 people. A place with a good wine list would be nice -- but we're not looking for crazy. We're mostly looking for a restaurant with good food where we can talk and just be together. . .
Seeking good eats in Alexandria Old Town for girls' weekend!
We are coming from all over the country and meeting in Old Town for a much needed girls' weekend. Any suggestions for great restaurants for dinner or brunch? Any type of food ok, just nothing that will break the bank. Places with great food where it is easy to talk are in order. Any ideas? TIA Chowhounds!
Looking for Boulder recs!
Thanks so much for all the great recs!!! Really appreciate it!
Looking for Boulder recs!
Thanks, LurkerDan! Much appreciated! this will be very helpful. . .
Looking for Boulder recs!
Thanks so much!! A couple specific questions -- any good places for take out (pizza, thai, etc.)? Since we have a 2 year old, we will probably be bringing in food a bit. Also, what is the best veggie restaurant in town?
TIA!
Looking for Boulder recs!
Coming to Boulder for a vacation next week and we're wondering if you have any general recs for must try places. We love all kinds of food, but definitely not looking to break the bank. Specifically, if you have any recs for casual dinner and lunch places, as well as great bakeries or breakfast places -- we'd love to hear them! We have a 2 year old, so that also fits into the equation. Thanks in advance, Chowhounds!
Need recs for girls getaway weekend in Newport Coast!
Thanks so much for all the recs! We're not looking for a bar scene as much as a great restaurant with a fun atmosphere -- I'm talking lingering over long dinners with wonderful friends. . .do you have any recommendations with this criteria?
3 Restaurant Reccs needed: Specifics Within!
I would second Nook Bistro for meal #3 in west la area. Great food and ambience. . . and they definitely have wonderful veggie/vegan options. If you plan to go there, however, you must make a reservation asap as they fill up rather quickly. Good luck!!

Need recs for girls getaway weekend in Newport Coast!
A bunch of us will be getting together in Newport Coast for some much needed girl time! Any recs for fun places with fabulous chow either in Newport Coast or Laguna? Nothing super fancy, but definitely great food and fun atmosphere are a must. We will probably try Javiers one night, but recs for other night or breakfast/lunch places are greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance!
Suggestions for 40th Birthday Girls' dinner in Santa Monica??
Fig! Wonderful food and fun place located in the Fairmont Hotel. We went recently and it was way beyond my expectations.
Looking for fun place with amazing food for night out in Hollywood, Santa Monica, etc.
Going out with some friends Friday night and we're looking to try a fun new place that doesn't break the bank. We're open to different areas as we live on the westside, but are meeting friends who live in Hancock Park/Hollywood. Nothing asian or too spicey, but any kind of tapas, italian, meditteranean cuisine would be great. Open to any ideas! Thanks in advance!
Mexican in vicinity of Century City?
I work in Century City and live close by, and our favorite place hands down is La Serenata Gourmet on Pico (10924 W. Pico). The food is excellent and it has a nice atmosphere as well. They have wonderful seafood, tacos, enchiladas, etc. And, try the poblano pepper quesadilla -- you will not be disappointed!

Looking for special birthday restaurant in westside/santa monica
Thanks for all the great advice! Unfortunately, we couldn't get into Gjelina since I waited too long to make a reservation. But, it's on the top of our list for next time! We ended up going to Fig based on the thread posted and previous reviews, and we really, really enjoyed it! The ambience was great -- we had a view of the pool and beautiful grounds, and the food was incredible. Just perfect for what we were looking for. Our favorites were the gnocchi and beet risotto -- mmmmmmmm. We also really enjoyed the cheese plate to start.
Thanks again!
Looking for special birthday restaurant in westside/santa monica
It's my husband's birthday and I'd love to take him somewhere new for his birthday! I was thinking Gjelina, but am wondering if there are any other suggestions? In Santa Monica/Venice, we love Jiraffe, Joes and Musha -- but I'd really love to try something new. Don't want something too pricey (around $100 for 2), and we love all kind of food -- mexican, italian, california, etc. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
Orcas Island eats?
I think it has changed. We had absolutely no expectations going to Doe Bay, and we were totally blown away. My husband ordered scallops which he claims were the best scallops he's ever had. They were prepared atop a risotto cake with delicious veggies and were excellent. I had an asian style vegetable bowl atop brown rice and it was incredible - unlike other similar types of veggie dishes I have had. The food was healthy, but well prepared, very flavorful and extremely fresh. The place was also packed and we had a hard time getting in since we didn't have a reservation. I'd definitely recommend that you give them another try!
Orcas Island eats?
Thanks for all the great recs! We ended up going to Rose's for lunch one day - it was excellent. The bread was also so good we went back the next day to pick up some bread and cheese for a picnic. We also tried Doe Bay Cafe' - what a treat! It was definitely the best dinner we had on our trip. Highly recommend it!
Would have loved to try Inn at Ship's Bay but just didn't have time. We'll be back!
If you had just one night out in Seattle. . .? (Poppy, Sitka and Spruce, Tilth?)
We are in town visiting and will have a chance to go out one night without our little munchkin. Choosing between Poppy, Sitka and Spruce and Tilth at the moment. Which would you choose? Any other recs? Thanks so much!

Wondering if there are any good indian recs in seattle? I'm talking - something really special. . .thanks in advance for any recs!!
Queen Anne Take Out??
We will be staying in the Upper Queen Anne neighborhood with a little baby - which means we'll probably be brining in take out for dinner a few times. Any recs for great food that can be delivered or picked up in that area? We love everything - Thai, Indian, Meditteranean, etc. Thanks so much!!
Orcas Island eats?
We will be staying for a couple of nights on Orcas Island. Any recs for great places for lunch or dinner? Thanks in advance, chowhounds!
