I'm not sure about "ever," but I recently toured New Orleans and had an amazing meal at Commander's Palace, a venerable NO institution. I was expecting great food in a somewhat stuffy blue-hair atmosphere, but it was anything but. The meal and service were impeccable.
My current drink of choice:
I love a traditional gin Martini, but the restaurants nowadays make them way too big.
I really wish I could:
Get over my phobia about clams. You get sick on them once, you won't ever eat them again.
My "Go-to" dinner party dish:
If we're having carnivores over, I love to make a sirlon roast, bathed in Madiera and cooked on a bed of sweet onions. I make homemade pasta for non-meat-eaters. In summer, I make "fish feast," packets of shellfish, herbs and aromatics steamed on the grill.
My favorite comfort food:
Homemade fruit pies of any kind.
