Radius Pizza - New Owners
We've been fans of Radius Pizza in Mt. Pleasant since they opened (even driving from Takoma DC to Mt. Pleasant for pizza after moving). We got a pizza last night and it was different than the past and not as good. We called to ask about the pizza and it turns out they now have new owners and are trying some different things with the pizza.
Anyone else experienced the new pizza? If so, did you have positive or negative experience?
Old Dominion Brewpub by PG Plaza
That's funny about the sushi being a normal thing they offer. I didn't even know they had a DC location. Where is it?
Old Dominion Brewpub by PG Plaza
Anyone else been here? We went last weekend and had a pretty mediocre experience:
I was excited to try the pub because we like the Old Dominion beer and root beer and I thought it would have good food and a good atmosphere. When we first walked in, I noticed that the decor was pretty bland and there were random beer signs and decorations haphazardly placed like an afterthought throughout the restaurant like a hotel sports bar. Then when we sat down, we got both a Dominion Brewpub menu and a sushi restaurant menu. For a second I thought that we were in the wrong restaurant, but it turns out that you can also get sushi at the pub. The menu was standard bar fare like burgers, chicken sandwiches, crabcakes, nachos, etc., along with some random "fancy" items along the lines of a baked chicken dish and some other "chef's specials." The menu looked like it was just printed off of a laser printer on a pre-printed template. Anyway, the food was mediocre. For an appetizer, we had nachos, which inexplicably had both melted cheddar cheese and nacho cheese on them. I had a crabcake sandwich that was just pieces of seasoned lump crab placed on the bun so that every time you took a bite, pieces of the crab would fall off the bun. My husband got a burger which turned out to be a burger sub. The whole experience puzzled me. The conclusion that I came to (only a guess) is that a sushi restaurant wasn't doing so well and they somehow partnered with Old Dominion Brewery to brand the restaurant and serve their beer, but they're not doing the best job. Kind of makes Old Dominion look bad. Definitely a disappointment.

General Store and Post Office Tavern [G-Spot] opens in Silver Spring
Do they serve brunch or breakfast?
Cashion's Place to Eat
Over the summer, I had a large family dinner at Cashion's (about 12–15 people). The wait staff were very accommodating and the food was excellent. Everyone had a great time and loved the food. (It was a Thursday night, if that makes a difference.)
Which Frozen Dinner is your favorite?
I second the Tandoor Chef meals. Best frozen food ever! Favorites are chicken or paneer tikka masala and the garlic naan.
Looking for a Wine Tasting/Class
I had a great experience with the ABC's of wine class offered by Washington Wine Academy. It was a series, but you could also take one of the classes on its own. The "lessons" were given by one of the Washington Post wine critics, so the content quality was good.

Proposal help PLEASE
I had my rehearsal dinner in the upstairs room at Local 16 on 16th and U St. NW. They had appetizer/dinner/dessert options from I think $20–$35 pp. It was served buffet style, but was very classy and everyone loved it. The staff were friendly and attentive. We brought our own wine with a $5 per bottle corking fee. Also, there was no extra room charge. Caviat was that at 9 pm (at least on Fridays, which is when I was there) they open the room to the public as a bar. http://localsixteen.com/
Gluten-free in DC?
Probably not a good recommendation for you while staying in Dupont...
but if anyone else is looking for gluten free ideas, I've seen gluten free sweets at Buzz Bakery in Alexandria.
Pumpkin or Butternut Squash Ravioli
The butternut squash ravioli at Kramerbook's Afterwards Cafe is really good!
Here's their menu: http://www.kramers.com/view.cfm?id=37
Where to buy a Thanksgiving Turkey?
Several years ago when I worked at Whole Foods, they would have a "turkey table" set up before Thanksgiving where you could order fresh free-range turkeys. You could check the P Street Whole Foods.
Best French Toast in DC
At the Paper Moon near Hampden in Baltimore, I'm pretty sure they have challah french toast as well.
Best Chinese in DC?
I think the General Tso's at Tony Cheng's in Chinatown is actually really good. Pieces of real chicken breast and a good flavor.
Best French Toast in DC
My favorites for french toast are the New Orleans Cafe in Adams Morgan and at the Tabard Inn near Dupont.
