Tuna noodle salad.
Not my mother - but my aunt by marriage did and I love it as it was so far from the stuff I grew up eating. She gave me the recipe years ago and instead of canned peas she used fresh or frozen and mayo. She cooked the noodles a couple minutes longer and it was just disgusting mushy goodness!
Creamy Garlic Dressing Recipe? (Chicago style)
Ok. I'm about to give it another go. We went through the first batch and while it was good - it needed more garlic powder, vinegar and I'll even add a sprinkle more of sugar this time. I also may do a full cup of mayo this time. I'll continue to work on perfecting this recipe!
What's for Dinner #142 [old]
Cold and rainy here in WI. We'll be having schnitzel, potato and brussel sprout mash and some sauerkraut.

Crockpot Porchetta! From here: http://www.jerseygirlcooks.com/2008/11/crockpot-porchetta.html
Smells delicious! Will serve with mashed potatoes and asparagus.
What's for Dinner? #140 [old]
mmmmm I could go for some rellenos! We're having a farfalle with mushroom cream sauce for dinner! Yum.
What's for Dinner? #140 [old]
We had a lovely chicken that I butterflied and roasted in the oven, pan roasted brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes and gravy. Was craving homey deliciousness.
How Do You Make Popcorn?
I just use a large soup pot... a little coconut oil in the bottom of the pan and sprinkle in some kernels. I've never made it any other way and it's the way my parents made it for us growing up. Dump it in a large paper grocery bag and cover w/ salt and butter and shake!
Creamy Garlic Dressing Recipe? (Chicago style)
It'll officially be 3 days tomorrow, but tonight, it's pretty darn close to what I was looking for. I added a bit more garlic powder than the recipe called for and thinking maybe I should have added a smidgen more, we'll see tomorrow evening!
What's for Dinner? #139 [Old]
burgers!
topped with bleu cheese, cloves of roasted garlic and mustard on pretzel buns! Salad on the side!
Do you make your own salad dressing?
Yes. Always. I am so picky about salad dressings. My favorite is:
1 med. clove of garlic mixed with salt to make a nice paste. Add about 3T of red wine vinegar, pepper and a pinch of dill and another mixed herb blend. I'm partial to Penzey's Parisien Bonnes Herbes blend. Let that sit for a bit and add a mix of extra light olive oil and extra virgin - about 4T and whisk until ready. Add more S&P as needed.
Sprinkle your salad with feta cheese and this dressing and it's AWESOME.

I think I found one. http://www.almanac.com/recipe/creamy-garlic-dressing
I'm going to give this a whirl this morning and will report back in a few days after it's ready if anyone else is interested!
Ribs
Smoque. I just spent a year and a half living in Texas and never found ribs IN Texas as amazing as Smoques. Granted, I haven't been to Smoque in over a year, but according to friends its still as delicious.
Bridal showers for 40 people
Try Topo Gigio in Old Town. They have a wonderful room upstairs. The rehearsal dinner for my first marriage was held there ;) I'm SURE they'll have some great veg options.
Creamy Garlic Dressing Recipe? (Chicago style)
I miss the amazing creamy garlic salad dressings popular, or well, once popular, in Chicago restaurants, especially Italian. My all time favorite will always be from Tony & Lil's that used to be in the Portage Park neighborhood of Chicago. Anyone ever get their hands on a good recipe for this particular style of garlic dressing?
One night, November 28 in Dallas, downtown...what ya got?
agreed. don't get the buzz on Cane Rosso - I've been three times now and it's good... not as good as so-so pizza throughout Italy though, in my opinion. Anyway, not worth spending your only night in Dallas at...
Had an EXCELLENT experience at Craft in August.
BEST Greek Restaurant with Taramosalata in Dallas?
Oh my - WONDERFUL. Thank you thank you. We don't get up that way... well, pretty much ever, but it might be worth a special trip! Thank you thank you.
BEST Greek Restaurant with Taramosalata in Dallas?
I'm dying here. I spent the last 11 years living next to Greektown in Chicago and I just can't do it anymore. I'm 31 weeks pregnant and need taramosalata. So I'm desperate also also a little bit picky about it - It cannot be bright pink! THANK YOU!
OUTSTANDING Thai in Keller
Awesome to know! My best friend and I always on the lookout for amazing Thai food.
Does burrata freeze well?
Vstock... Central Market on Lovers Ln. has bel gioioso burrata and it's quite good actually, it's American made out of Denmark, WI. ALSO, I know the Whole Foods in Chicago packaged their own (maybe from elsewhere, I don't know) Burratta that was a bit better than the Bel Gioioso but I have not yet been to the Whole Foods here yet, I just relocated to Dallas. Good to know about Mozz. Comp. I actually tried their regular Mozz and was not at all impressed with it, I had high hopes. :(

Senior Trip to Chicago. 7 Day Restaurant Help
I'll simply answer...
Which Greek restaurant would you recommend? I'm new to Greek food. The Parthenon or Greek Islands - Greek Islands... but if you're open to other suggestions, my personal favorite is Venus. Their taramosalata is superb.
I'm also new to French Bistros. I was thinking Bistro Campagne? I'm not a huge fan of French food, gasp. But I am a big fan of L&M in Logan Square which is a bit of a hike from Palmer House ...
Please pick two sushi restaurants(We love sushi): Coast Sushi Bar, Indie Cafe, Bob-San, and Wakamonosushi. - COAST. COAST. Just do Coast. :) My favorite in the city. Otherwise I'd recommend Mirai, but I personally am not a fan of the others you list.
Pick top two(I love seafood, especially crab, lobster, shrimp): Shaw's Crab House, Hugo's Frog Bar, or Joe's Seafood and Steak
Grand Luxe Cafe
Cafe Ba Ba Reeba
Cafe des Architectes Tuesday night in order to get the 3 courses for $29 or LE BOUCHON 3 courses for $25?
La Tache Monday night - 3 course prix fixe
Signature Room one day for Lunch and the Signature Lounge late one night for dessert
And I was thinking Cafe Spiaggio for lunch one da
Pick 2 of the above? Cafe Ba Ba Reeba is a lot of fun, it really is. AND I'd go with Joe's or Shaw's...
Have a great trip. :)
Best Pizza in Chicago?
great article! VERY FUNNY!
Now, about the orig. list... glad to see Pequods made the list at #10 on the 25 and so glad Piece did too! I have to say though, Pequods pizza is best simply w/ pepperoni. ALSO glad to see Paula & Monica made the list, a newer favorite of mine and you can NEVER go wrong with Coalfire. Oh yum. I think tonight may be a pizza night..
any secrets to a great tuna fish sandwich?
So many variations here, I love it!
I simply use tuna in olive oil, diced onion, diced jalapeƱo, sea salt and pepper and either a little more olive oil or a little bit of mayo if I happen to have it on hand....
the Best Canned Tuna?
My favorite as well. And ALCO which is in Italy... which I smuggle back with me when I go... I also really like Rio Mare. I don't really like albacore...
Birthday dinner in Ft. Worth? Help me pick a place?
Oh! Great other link! Thank you! Ooooh Lanny's, I had forgotten that I had heard about Lanny's, thanks so much for the reminder strong95!
Birthday dinner in Ft. Worth? Help me pick a place?
Staying downtown Ft. Worth at the lovely Renaissance for my Birthday... so, I need to know...
Where would you want to spend your 30th Birthday dinner? Somewhere near the hotel. We're both very open on cuisine and looking for for the bill to be under $200 (with tip and cocktails) for 2. A couple of breakfast lunch suggestions also welcomed! There for 2 nights. Is Lonesome Dove a good one, I've heard about it from some Chicago friends and booked a table for one of the nights... ?
I am completely unfamiliar w/ Ft. Worth. I've been in the towns surrounding, but never downtown. A lot of the focus seems to be on Dallas, but I could be wrong, so I apologize for not knowing where to start in Ft. Worth.
Best Pasta in Las Vegas
It doesn't always get the best of response or reviews... but one of my favorite pasta dishes is the Cavatappi at Enoteca San Marco in Venetian. It's with a lamb ragu, mint and tomato, I find it to be rather wonderful.
What's Your Favorite Chinese Take Out Order
Dumplings... which type we're feeling that day :)
Garlic Eggplant or Szechuan Eggplant
Fei Teng Fish or well just Fish in hot garlic sauce if to go... because it the Fei Teng Fish where we go doesn't travel well.
and finally... whatever noodle dish we're feeling that day! Singapore noodles or the Shanghai style chow mein at our fav. place.
