Outsourcing Thanksgiving turkey in NOLA?

Langenstein's is great, and their gravy and stuffing are always a hit. Sav-a-center is cheap and will also do a complete turkey dinner, but I'm not sure if you can just order the turkey. Unfortunately, all of the sides they serve are sold in plastic tubs and look none too appetizing. I think you can also order fried turkey from Chez Nous on Magazine but have to place your order well in advance.

Disappointment at Lilette

To go back to Lilette. I'm sure this has all been said before, but I love Lilette and have never had a bad experience there. I love the bartender and their special drinks, earlier in the summer they had a thyme infused vodka lemonade that was to die for. And their Alberto is one of the best cocktails ever. I always order the gnocchi, and I hate beets but will eat their beet salad. And for dessert, they have a coconut sorbet served with candied dates that will just melt in your mouth. The servers have always been polite but maybe not the quickest. But who cares when the food is so fantastic.

Ice cream and gelato

Angelo Brocato's is by far the best in the city even though they may not have as many experimental flavors. I've tried the coconut gelato at Sucre, Sophie's, and La Divina and they were all mediocre at best. Brocato's tastes ALMOST like it came straight from Italy. Sucre is pretty good, but I hate how they keep all of their chocolates and pastries uncovered on the counter.
Creole Creamery also makes the best chocolate shake in the city if you aren't feeling too adventurous.
