Prepared frozen meals to order

For my aunt, who will soon be 80, I'd like to find a source for good, reasonably healthy prepared meals that she could heat up. She lives alone, so single servings would be great. She lives on Long Island. Thanks!

Where to eat in Chatham?

Thanks so much for your reply -- and to the others who replied, too.

Are they higher-end places (Serenade and Scalini Fedel) worth it? Staying close to where the concert is would be good as we don't know the area.

Where to eat in Chatham?

Will be in Chatham in a few weeks on a Saturday evening and looking for an early-ish dinner before a "Sanctuary Concert." The choices seem to range from very fancy to ethnic...but what is the tastiest? Thanks!

Just FYI - Cubana Cafe open on 6th and St. Marks (north Slope)

Cute little place with lots of folks there on Sunday. Got a Cuban sandwich to go and it was yummy. No idea if it was authentic, but who cares, it was delish. Prices look reasonable and menu is interesting. Will defnitely go back.

Knife skills class?

Oops. I should have said that I live in NY City and the class I'd be looking for would have to be in the city, on Long Island, or elsewhere nearby...

Knife skills class?

Casting about for a diffrenet kind of Christmas gift for my boyfriend, who is an excellent, self-taught cook, I'm thinking about a knife skills class. He always says he doesn't know what he's doing, but he certainly manages. My questions are two: first, anyone have a good experience with such a class, and if so where; and second, will it be too elementary for an experienced cook who will then get bored or ornery? Thanks.

Doylestown area dinner

As a Christmas gift for my brother and sister-in-law who live in Doylestown, I'd like to get a gift certificate for a nice dinner nearby. A search of this board turned up Arielle's Country Inn. Any other suggestions in the area? A nice, maybe even romantic, atmosphere would be a plus.

Veal

Thanks, Calvinist, for getting to the heart of my question.

Veal

Guilty as charged! We were not on an exhaustive search for veal -- just happened to notice that it was scarce, particularly after a search of several Sonoma county supermarkets, where we found numerous cuts of beef and no veal whatsoever. And although we obviously did not eat at any of the Italian restaurants mentioned, we looked at many, many menus and saw very few veal dishes. Makes you kind of curious. Just wanted to know what the deal is there with veal, that's all.

Veal

Just visited San Francisco and environs, and found no veal. None in the supermarkets, none in restaurants. Is it unpopular, not politically correct, illegal?? Inquiring minds from NY want to know. Thanks!
