Suggestions for Food Tour in Rome

I have done the eating italy tours and they are great. The groups are relatively small (we will eight people I think) and the value for your money is excellent.

Looking for an Excellent Paris Lunch

I will be in Paris for one night for a wedding in two weeks time. we have one lunch free on a Friday and want to go somewhere great. I was thinking of Le Grand Vefour, any thoughts? We have a Thalys at 15h35 so the meal can't last more than 3 hours. Also we don't eat meat. Suggestions please.

Manhattan - Kosher shabbat and prepared food take-out

Thanks for the suggestions. Looked at the sites and frankly it looked pretty reasonable considering what this type of stuff costs in Europe.

Sunday night dinner in Mitte

Hello,
I am going to Berlin next week for business. Sunday night I have nothing planned and I will be dining solo. Looking for a great restaurant in Mitte for a foodie who doesn't eat meat (fish is fine). Any style cuisine is welcome.

Dad is an observant Jew. I am an observant Chowhound. Where can we eat in New York City and both be satisfied?

This is a great restaurant and what I was going to suggest.

I know it is a bit early but can any suggest restaurants in NYC which would be doing special dinners for New Year's Eve? Thanks.

Eating Italy Food Tours

Thanks for your response. The girls are 1 & 3.5 so quite small, but they both like to eat and the older one likes to cook (we make focaccia together regularly). The 3.5 year old calls Italy the land of pasta, but I wonder if she is too small for a pasta making class. I guess I thought the tour might work well because they are happy to be in their strollers, see the sights, and snack. The biscotti bakery sounds fun, can you suggest any good address?

Paris - Recommendations for 10th Anniversary Dinner

May I suggest the Cigale Recamier. Lovely, delicious, and surprisingly reasonable restaurant frequented by a lot of french politicians and people in the publishing industry around lunch time. They specializes in souffles but also have many non-souffle items They wood mushroom souffle and the salted caramel souffle are to die for. I went there for a low key 7th anniversary lunch two weeks ago and it was perfect. I think the setting is exactly what you describe but perhaps you want fancier food. They don't have a website, in fact they specifically chose not to make one as they don't want to become too touristy. Here are the contact details:
La Cigale RĂ©camier
4 Rue RĂ©camier, 75007 Paris, France

Jewish Deli in Paris?

The answer is no. Jewish food in Paris is different from Jewish food in New York. The French cuts of meat are different too as are the food tradition. The best deli meats are the strasbourg style sausages. At the kosher butcher you can get pastrami but I have never seen warm brisket on rye. Goldenberg's was the only place I have ever seen matzah ball soup on the menu and they are long gone. You have a much chance of getting this type of stuff in London or Amsterdam. In Paris I would stick to North African Jewish Food.

5 weeks in Lyon

Thanks for the link I suppose it is quite complete. I actually know Lyon very well having lived there for a year and in general going for a few days 2-3 times a year. I guess my only question would be suggestions for ethnic food, or any really new places on the dining scene as I haven't been to Lyon (with time to dine out) in about 18 months. Of the list in that large post I have eaten at about 80% of the places so perhaps there aren't so many surprises...

Tour D'Argent Lunch?

I did the lunch a few years ago, I think it was 70 euro. We had a very enjoyable time. Make sure to ask for a tour of the wine cellar.

Paris lunch dining with toddler - need advice

I have only had good experiences taking my 3 yr. old to french restaurants. To be honest they may only eat bread and get an apple juice but as long as they are quiet why not? Not sure about making things off the menu but they have simplified dishes for us (i.e. fish without sauces, for example). I don't think it is considered tacky to let your child share if they are under four.

Late night left bank dining

Thanks Souphie, you always have great suggestions. I know it is a short walk but given the late hour we don't want to go too far afield. If only for the babysitter's sake.

Venice questions

Thanks for your wonderfully detailed answer. The apartment is by the Frari Church. For the dinner I would obviously be happy to do it for less but I want something nice with good food. In terms of the vibe I think we are looking for low key traditional food. I will probably contact the restaurant in advance to arrange for a set group menu,

Venice questions

Hello I have a few quick dining questions for Venice. I will be in Venice to host some meeting for work. We are renting an apartment in Sestiere San Polo if that makes sense. For lunch we are doing a "working lunch" in the apartment. I was wondering where we could pick up high quality foccacia, anti-pasti and other cold dishes to have for lunch. In the evening I need to invite the entire team to dinner I think we will be 8-10 in total. The group aren't huge drinkers, I want to arrange a nice meal for around 50 euros a person max, excluding wine. Close to the apartment would be helpful. Thanks for your suggestions!

Late night left bank dining

My husband I are going to a concert at La Sainte Chapelle which will probably end around 22h30. We want to go for a nice dinner (not necessarily fancy) afterwards on our walk home to Maubert-Mutualitie. Meaning we need a place where they won't bat an eye when we stroll in at 23h00. Suggestions please.

Best Kosher Restaurant in Paris?

What do you think is the single best kosher restaurant in Paris? Trying to decide where to go for a special dinner and leaning towards Le Chateaubriand but curious if there is anything better? And yes I have looked at mangercasher.com ;)
